A lot of you grasp the technology to use photoshop and whatnot. That is not going to cut it.

Learn the basics of layouts, typography, color theory, etc, if you are into this.

That's good and all, I just see a lot of people jumping into advanced tools like C4D and photoshop with 0 knowledge of the basics.

Might as well go into CAD or engineering instead if all you want to do is click buttons.

To reply more specifically to you, focus on reduction of what you have going on. You could simplify your signature quite a bit and improve the look.

Yeah i feel you, the problem isn't always the artist tho. It can be the client asking for overdone effects, sharpening, etc etc. Can be quite annoying. I never started with c4d at all, only found out about it after like a year of regular tagging.

For sythe purposes fundamentals can be thrown out the window. Everyone loves recycled c4d garbage in their signatures.

I literally just said this to Lucas though, it's not the photoshopping that is hard, it is finding inspiration and creativity that is hard. Some of the things mentioned in the OP can only really be fully grasped through experience anyways. Experience that you will not get if your only experience is selling graphics on sythe. Not to mention the pay is terrible in comparison to a IRL job. That's why I just do odd jobs for people that I know.

Emperor is pro critic, the problem (if you can call it that really) is only that sythe is a market, not an art forum. So people use their names etc to get their advertising out. Not alot of people care about art in their signature, but they need it to look good to stand out of the crowd.

Yup, comes up over and over again. The C4D material can go both ways honestly. It's obvious and easy to tell who is in the market for a quick buck with templates and who actually has experience and creativity instilled in their works. It gets sickening to see more and more people use the C4D templates floating around the web rather than learning how to make graphics from scratch.

This whole topic makes me question my work lol :p
but yeah I agree, sometimes people just go overboard with effects and don't take into account flow, colors, etc. (I've made that mistake before)
