Guy Who's Liked My Girlfriend

Have you ever had the girl that you like to the point when she's the only thing on your mind, but she gets a boyfriend that's not you?
I've been in that position lots of times but this time, It's the opposite.

Us three (me, my girlfriend and the guy, let's call him A) are very close friends.
She knows that A likes her very much and has told him many times that he's not her type. He knows that he's in the friendzone, but still likes her very much.

And there's me
A has known and like my girlfriend a lot longer than I have.
If he were some chump that I didn't know, I wouldn't give a shit right now but he's become one of my closest friends, as we have done a lot together.

Like I said, I've been in that position where some other guy is fucking the girl that you like. It's absolutely devastating, and A is in that position

How should I confront him?

I'm obviously the last person that he wants to see as he probably feels that I just stabbed him in the back
but I really feel that I need to get things straight with him to let him know that I don't think of him as some loser. (He does think that, he just updated his facebook status saying so not so long ago.)

 

You tell him exactly what you feel. Explain to him that you value his friendship and that you don't want there to be any problems + complications between you two.

 

Tell him the truth. Your with her and care for her. Also let him know that you value yours and his friendship and that's why you felt the need to tell him. Sure he may get mad at first but if he's a real friend he will forgive you.

 

For starters your Profile picture is hilarious.
Second, i wouldn't worry about it. If he has had that time you say he has had to do anything with her and nothing has happened. Nothing will continue to happen. Don't stress over it.

 

Maybe just because you know that he liked your girlfriend, you're likely to get paranoid when he is around her. I think he might be over it. I can't think of a bigger asshole that tries to steal the girlfriend of a friend.

I think confronting him would ruin a lot things. You should talk with your girlfriend about it.

 

Just let him know you love him (as a homie).

 

No offense, but if you knew he had feelings for this girl well before you did, and now you are with her, that is kind of messed.

Everyone pretty much summed it up! Communication is a huge key in these types of situations and it usually cuts out the drama and complication

btw Facebook is not a diary. People need to realize this and keep that kind of stuff off of it..

 

A buddy of mine went through this exact situation, except he and the girl had feelings for eachother and they did stuff and then she ended up liking his friend.

He just told me that if his friend would have been straight up with him it would have made the situation a lot better.

Most people just want that, honesty. If you really value him as a friend then you're going to do what a good friend would in that situation.

Love triangles are shitty and suck for everyone. they never work out and talking about it to the dude is going to do nothing but make it even more awkward cause then ya buddy 'A' has to pretend hardcore to feign interest in ya girlfriend but is still gunna lust after her like never before.

Instead, you gotta find a girl for 'A'. Ask ya girl if she knows anyone cool she could set the dude up with, hell even hit the bar with him and be the best wingman possible. The more interested he gets in other chicks means the less he's going to be interested n yo girl. Feel me?

I'll tell you right now it's a good idea to have a good relationship with this guy so that he know his place. You don't want him mackin on yo bitch. Really though, if it comes down to it, forget about the guy and have your girlfriend do the same. It's nothing but trouble when a girls best friend wants to fuck her.

Explain the situation but what is more important to you your girlfriend or your friend? Can you see yourself long term with her or is she just another building block to find someone better? If so it's not worth causing the rift in the friendship.

 

coming from someone that has been friendzoned by a girl that i've not liked, but LOVED since i was 9. let it go he means no harm and if hes a true friend he will not come between you too no matter what. Not to mention have faith in the fact that your girlfriend has even come out and told him he's not her type. If there's one thing i've learned over my life is that jealousy kills more relationships then anything in the world.

Just have faith in her and your friend. I love this girl my best friend is married too and i would never come between them, not to mention I met my wife through the girl and I wouldn't trade my wife for anyone in the world.

 

Thought that she would just be another building block, but I now realize that I've been stacking many blocks to be ready when I meet somebody like her.
