depends whether you try and save on certain things or you just spend for the sake of spending. I have enough to get me by and then some, but I still try and cut back where I can. On the other hand, some friends of mine spend their wages as quick as they get them.

like the hourly rate for an adult to live a comfortable life. i believe there might not be a set price but i definitely believe there is a range.

i think maybe around 30 per hour would be okay? im not sure.
like where looking at the average. not at any extremes but in the middle.

Yeah can't really put people into a catagory as everyone has individual needs & expectations on what they need/want imo. Personally for me I could probably live on £10/hr as a bare minimum (bills to pay etc), comfortable would be more like £15/£17/hr, but as I said this is specific to me.

I think I'm misunderstanding do you mean hourly rate or per annum? If we're talking yearly, if I'm honest 10k probably wouldn't even cover bills for me personally.

Just read the title lol! Yeah as you said in the above post if your on 30 an hour, your living very comfortable in my world imo!

Depends on where you live. $30k in the mid west will get you a pretty far way. $30k in NYC will get you very little.

Depends on where you live. Some places (and some countries) have very high costs of living and require more money to get the same quality of living.

whats an acceptable hourly rate for a job?

It's quite dependent on where you live really. For instance, I live in the north-east UK, rent and house prices up here and FAR less than say if I lived in London. Probably around 1/4 of the price.

For me to live comfortable with a child and a non-working partner I need to be earning around £2,700 after a tax per month. From that I'd say £1,300-400 goes out on bills etc, £300 goes on food and fuel. Leaving me usually safe to save at least £1,000 per month.

As for hourly rate it's dependent on the job, for me. I can go work in another part of the country working by the clock for say £20-30 an hour, with £50 tax free per day for living allowances. Working 12 hour days 5 days a week usually lands me above £5,000 per month after tax. When I'm at home working as a radiographer, I usually get price work. So I'll be on per say £10-11 an hour, but will work maybe 4-5 hours to earn 30-40 hours. So hourly rate can be beaten by price work and ability to do the job correctly but at a high rate of speed.

But like I say, as long as I don't earn less than £1,600 per month, I don't run into any problems.

EDIT: also, when my partner is able to return to work, you're talking another £1,000 on top of that for her to bring to the pot per month. This will drastically make life a lot easier. Being able to save on average £2,000 per month. And when I pick up a monster wage save £3-5,000.

I think whatever an employer and employee freely agree to is acceptable.

As for living comfortably, it depends greatly on the location and what someone requires for comfort.

$30 for where I live is very good, because generally there are no jobs here that offer that much. I live in a very rural area though. I could easily live comfortably by myself on $15 - $18. I could live bare minimum on around $10 - $12, but that is for just rent, food, and a way to work. It greatly depends on where you live.

Minimum wage in California has been raised to $10/hr (the bill raises it in increments each year. i.e. next year it's going to be like $9.25). Working 40 hours a week at that amount in my area you could live somewhat decently.

Whatever they're willing to pay you is acceptable. It boggles my mind how Walmart/Mcdonalds employees complain about $8/hour and want $15 when they're unskilled labor. They're not supposed to be permanent jobs - go to a community college or something. >_<

In the UK i've had two jobs both have been around £6-£7 an hour, i would say this is acceptable for a simple minimum wage job.

Idk if you guys heard but Switzerland is thinking of passing a law that would grant the government to give each citizen $2800 a month.
