Anyone buy royal mail shares?

Not sure how many people new about this but royal mail was being privatised and sold off, just wondering if anyone decided to invest in them last week when they were sold?

I bought £750 worth of shares and sold for £1068 earlier .

(Not saying you should buy them now as they probably won't be rising by as much anymore.)

 

going to gamble your profit like a real man or what?

I'l try but I'm not that knowledgeable lol. Royal mail was being privatized and so the government were selling a large part of the royal mail, which meant people could now buy shares in the business. Was alot of media attention saying that the government had undervalued the royal mail and were selling off the shares too cheaply (between 260p and 330p each).

Anyway they sold the shares 330p each, i bought 227 shares for £749.10, and now that the shares are available to be bought by anyone the share price has risen so far to 489p each.

Hope that makes some kind of sense

I had to sell through this shareview.com website because i bought from the government website.

Although you can buy/sell from any stockbroker now or trading platform.

 

Yeah did this also, I've kept a hold onto mine for the min thou. How come you got rid? It's win win anyway so I'm literally going to wait until they hit the tip & then sell em.

 

Aha true but i was unsure at what point they would go down so thought id just bag the £300 profit. Knowing my luck they'll skyrocket to £6 each lol

 

I do hope so for my sake! I think I'll get rid of em soon just a couple more days, only cus I'm greedy I guess! Not a bad investment for doing nothing with the £300 eh!

 

apparently royal mail announced they'd be striking, so keep an eye on the price ^^. Aha yea easy £300, shame something like this doesn't happen every day lol
