Have you tried uninstalling your graphics driver and re-installing an updated one? (I know that's kind of an obvious answer so I'll assume that you did).

Derp. It's a decent card tbh, you shouldn't have much problems with it. Are you running the games in like ultra settings or w.e? Just lower down the detail a notch and it should run smoother.

Phone cached the thread, didn't see any of the specs.

OT: You're good man. Most games I play just gives constant low fps and others are smoother even with changed settings.

Odd you're getting it in a FPS game

Its highly unlikely that random complete frame rate drops are due to his graphics settings being set too high.

Its probably a driver issue, an issue with an older power supply, an issue with vsync, or something else along those lines.

Not if he is running through smoke or something like that.

could be certain effects in-game as previously mentioned. not enough information to really tell...is this a new game? a game you've played lots in the past that is only just now giving you this problem?

I would certainly look into your power supply. not sure what you've got, but you've gotta understand that power supplies do wear over time. what you might have bought that was originally 600watt might only be pushing enough amps on the rails to equate to 500 watts now. ya never know.
    more info please :p

    With a 7950 in mw3, ehh...

I'd be pretty willing to bet that isn't the problem, plus it'd be pretty obvious if you were getting fps drops only when running through smoke/dark areas etc.

whats the problem with my comp?:S

i have been playing mw3 before, but i only played multiplayer and i had 90 fps all the time without laggs. But now i tried out single player and i have 60 fps(i think thats the max because it stays at 60 most of the time and never goes higher) but sometimes it drops down to 5-10 for 2secs. Also the comp is 1 month old so i dont think thats the problem.

1-do a clean driver uninstall, then reinstall.
2-also, install hwinfo64 and do some monitoring. make sure you're not throttling due to temps(either massive cpu throttling, or any gpu throttling could cause this)
3-swap your psu with a buddy's power supply that is known to be good and has 25-30Amps(30+ preferably...this card can be hungry) on the 12v rail for that card. My bet is...this'll solve your problem.

unless your card has a built-in safety like some NVidia cards do(not sure about AMD cards, but it'll throttle way bad due to lack of power when it realizes there's potential for damage to be done), if your power supply is failing...it's gonna take out the video card soon too.

Maybe your computer is overheated. Try to clean it from dust if you haven“t done that yet.

Check and make sure your video cards fan isn't stalling or stopping
