    Gtx 670 /770?

    Hi guys,

I'm upgrading my GPU (560ti) to something more powerful for new games releasing next November and next year.

I'm looking at the GTX 670 or the GTX 770. I would prefer to stick with Nvidia.

The 770 is more powerful, however if you look at the links, there is no difference in price whatsoever.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-Nvidia-GeForce-DirectCU-Graphics/dp/B0082FIW96/

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/GeForce-DirectCU-Graphics-Express-Display/dp/B00CY5GP08/

I understand there's a sale on them, but I find it a little odd a 770 is exactly the same price as a 670 on here.

Should I just go with the 770? I can't see any reasons not to.

Also, I have a Corsair 650W PSU, along with an Intel i5 2500k (not overclocked), will I be fine for power if I replace the 560ti with a GTX 770?

    Thanks.

Yes, you would be correct in going with the 770!

Google "newegg recommended psu calculator." Its not the best in the world but it'll give you an idea on whether or not you need to upgrade.

edit: but off the top of my head I'm thinking your psu will probably be sufficient.

you'll be MUCH better off with the 770. It is no different than a gtx 680 as far as the hardware goes, it's just slightly faster than a gtx 680.
If I were you though, I would reaaaallly consider looking into the new line of radeon cards when they become available this month. I've never been an AMD guy, but I'll be making the switch.

and yes, your PSU will suffice, just don't plan on overclocking too heavily, esp if the power supply has a few years worth of wear on it.

it'll be be more than sufficient, he could run it off a quality 500/550 if he wanted.

Either is fine. You are near the top graphics cards and any will really do.

Thanks. I used the calculator and my PSU wattage is fine.

Na I'm not interested in AMD. Their drivers suck and game developers will develop + optimise for Nvidia cards more than AMD anyway. Watch_Dogs and Skyrim are good examples.

And I don't tend to overclock personally.

    Okay cool.

Just a question because I also have a 560 Ti, why not just setup a dual 560ti with SLI itll be alot cheaper would it not?

It will require more power to do so. Better off getting a single graphic card.

    670 = 760ish
    680 overclocked = 770

Go with the 770. You'll be fine if you have the PSU I think you have.
