Physical interaction with a significant other isn't a MUST for everyone. I get to see her in 6 days for the 3rd time now. I plan on moving to her city after the first of the year some time

and jonathan, you don't have to shame about those things. i find you a really cool guy. i'm honest when i called with my soulmate on 25th september which is my birthday i cried aswell because it was the worst day ever. i've never had a real birthday so it's really emotional day for me that i lose all of my hope. she felt really bad about it and here is the beautifull story coming along. she told me if i could call her in an hour so i was like sure that's okay. i felt really bad that i didn't celebrate my bday, didn't receieve any present or friends coming and remember my bday. she texted me and she said 'i brougth you a present, come and get it' it's very close to the wallmart. that was the day we've officialy met eachother and from now we visit and we have no regret, today she's visiting me again ^^

I met my girlfriend on Runescape. I was showing off my pixels and I got horny when I saw her princess blouse. So I started to flirt with her and she wasn't a slut. We then spoke everyday and I remember first time I called her and spoke on the phone..... I was so nervous and she didn't know what to say. I then started a relationship with her on the 09/04/09. Next April will be 5 years! she lives about 2 hours from me so it's not that bad at all. Planning on getting married to her when I reach the right age too.

To be honest, I don't think online dating is something you should do seriously. I think it would be okay to have an online girlfriend/boyfriend, but never let it affect your real world decisions. Then on the other hand I do believe the internet opens up your options to a wider variety of people who are more like you, have more in common, and overall just a better match for each other. It all depends on what way you look at it. I honestly don't know how people fall for that Catfish shit though, it amazes me.

 

Just to the people saying the $1500 for the first date or whatever.
Personally I'd rather live with the regret of losing $1500 than the regret of not knowing what would've happened if I did.

You can always get money back but opportunities are lost forever.

I guess I support it as long as you know the risks and have intentions of meeting in person and taking it forward.

 

The internet is used for everything else, so why not? I think it's a bit close-minded for people to look down on other for meeting/dating online. Why limit yourself to meeting a partner to your immediate area?

Age plays a pretty big role in this though. Anyone who is younger than 18 shouldn't be taking online relationships too seriously. Personally, I never saw myself meeting someone online, however, coincidentally, I recently have.

I couldn't agree more with the statement 'don't let anyone tell you how to live you life' You can't help who you fall in love with and as long as you have every intention to make it work, there is nothing wrong with it. Your story was so cute, just like Jonathan and I where when we dated long distance.

when you feel a romantic connection to someone they can catch you off guard and it's sad to say I'm sure this happens all the time. (identity theft) with that aside though, yeah I hear more and more about people who meet online not to mention the increase in online dating website, E-Harmony's adverts flood late night televisions (when the lonely are usually sitting at home watching TV on their own lol) and I think it's great, specially for those who're less social and don't have the confidence to confront someone in person.

It can be risky indeed, but thats half the excitement and you should have nothing to be sorry for, we're happily living together in Newcastle now

I'm almost 100% positive it will all be worth it in March when you get to be with each other. Just like it was for Jonathan and I. Every tear I cried, everytime I upset myself knowing I couldn't touch, kiss or hold the man I loved hurt. But the last time he flew out to Australia knowing I'd be going home with him made it worth it.

Not everyone can help who they fall in love with. In this case, I didn't play Runescape looking for love. We never considered ourself 'dating' until we did meet, then carried on dating when he left to go back home.

I met my husband online. I would have never met him because he lived 4 hours away. Signing up on that one particular site changed my life for the better

That was actually really good to read a story like that, it just made me realise how the people you may meet can turn into more than just a 'gamer friend'. The only difference is that I don't think I could put up with only seeing someone once every few months, it'd hurt a bit and I'd just end it through stress. I had the same problem when my ex moved 200 miles away when we were still together, it makes a huge difference. (inb4 roary makes horrible comments about me), and maybe I'll find someone online one day, but I think there's a limited number of females that like tractors.
