Semi-Nude photos are not porn but they definitely do not belong outside of the spam forum/upper spam and maybe general discussion depending on the topic but other than that there is no relevance to the topic and therefore it's a useless photo which some people may find offensive. Semi support. There needs to be a clear rule of where you can and cannot post this material because some people cannot judge that on their own.

NSFW isn't literal. Anything that falls into the nsfw category would be basically when someone is around you, someone like your family or coworkers/boss. You wouldnt click on a nsfw image/link in a coffee shop, or a restaurant.

Basically anything that is inappropriate is nsfw. Anything the user does not want to be seen accessing in public is the best example I can give you of nsfw. It's internet slang.

And not everyone on Sythe is here for trading. There is quite a list of members, including me, that rarely enters the market anymore and stay for the community. We read threads, debate, give our opinions in feedbacks and suggestion etc.

Can we not just browse through the threads on Sythe without there being random images of women in their underwear in public?

    well...

These are quotes referring to looking at Sythe at work... strange you are one that does, therefore i was using the literal sense of NSFW. Get off Sythe and do your job. you shouldn't be waisting your time while someone else is paying you to do something.

That being said yes there is a gray area, that is why this thread was started.

Girls modeling =/= Porn, but it could be unappealing to some people. but look where you are... you are on a black market, you know... a gray area....

Notice the "public" in those quotes. There are jobs where there is nothing wrong with browsing the internet, but if they see you staring at a girl in her underwear?

NSFW isnt literal, but it doesnt mean it cant be applied to the workplace.

The scenario where people catches you on Sythe:
"Hey man what you doin, what site is that?
"Oh just a blackmarket where I buy and sell currency for games, and a forum"
What kind of a reply are you expecting here? No one cares if you are browsing a forum that has a blackmarket. You think people will think less of you? Yet buying currency to make you better are applied in almost every apple/android games worth playing.

Now what if they catch you staring at a woman in her underwear? That is a whole different scenario and getting out isnt easy, I have no idea how you are even comparing the 2. I dont mind being seen by my family that I am on Sythe, but staring at women in their underwear in front of them? When I managed the family business for almost a year, I could care less if the employees saw me browsing a forum. Big whoop, a black market for games. But if they see my screen on a girl in her underwear?

Anyway what is your stance on the suggestion? All I see is you mentioned it is a gray area but nothing on suggesting what to do. If you are here to just say it is a gray area, that was already implied prior to your post.

There is a difference in staring at a page FULL of naked/half-naked women and a single picture at the end of a thread.

just as easily explained as a questionable signature.

i would support the 3 day/1 week ban for clearly deliberate suggestive pictures intended on sexual arousal. The ruling needs clarified and honestly the only people that can do that is the staff.

I agree with Belumoth here. A 1 Month ban is far too long for suggestive images. What about like a sports illustrated? I would have no problem reading that in my workplace, even if it's the swimsuit edition. From what I can see, the spam forum is there for spam. If you're browsing Sythe for the market or a serious type discussion, the spam forum isn't for that. Don't be in the spam forum at work or in public and this wouldn't be an issue.

tl;dr, The spam forum is meant for spam. If you can't handle a girl in a bikini or lingerie, don't view it in public. Simple.

and @Apith, If I was at work or a public place, and someone asked me what I was doing / what I was on... I would definitely not say "A blackmarket". They might not know what I mean by that and probably think less of me. A forum, however, would be more appropriate.

If someone sees my computer on a single picture of a girl in her underwear, they wont just think it is 1 image. Your argument is making no sense because when they look at your screen they wont be looking at the whole page, just whatever catches their eye. Doesnt necessarily have to be the whole page.

The above was posted by Yarrow, a moderator. You either dont agree with this or didnt even bother reading the whole thread.

    That wasnt my point.

And that was already stated, anyone who enters the spam forum knows that there could be nsfw things there. You obviously havent read the whole thread. Dont view it in public? May as well not browse sythe in public if people posted nsfw images outside the spam forum, where it was done recently. Your point makes no sense to say dont view it in public. I have no problem viewing Sythe in public, but not when there are random images of half naked women around without my knowledge of it being there.

Anyway I believe Roary and yarrow's posts pretty much answered this suggestion. All Im seeing is people who havent read the whole thread posting, which is going no where but back.

This exactly. Soft Core doesn't really belong outside the spam forum, especially not in serious threads.

To all of you saying "you shouldn't be browsing Sythe when you're at work or in public anyways", I can't believe you're actually being serious.

Edit: Also, I want to reiterate the point I made on the first page:

I have pictures of "half-naked" women in my sig, but you don't see me getting banned for a month. Why? Because it's form of expression, an art. That is why no matter what usergroup you belong to, all signatures are disabled in that section. I don't go out of my way posting pictures in the RaS section with intent on pushing staffs' buttons. I'm perfectly fine with the current rule on porn/gore and don't think it should be amended.

I read it all and you are right i don't agree. modeling IS NOT porn of any degree. It is art a display of beauty. If they user posts the image to bring out the sexual nature of the image it should be infracted and dealt with, a ban of one month for posting images of girls displaying their beauty is not reasonable.

YOU ARE AT WORK, YOU ARE BEING PAID TO DO YOUR JOB! Yes your signature is a form of expression no matter how weird or disturbing some people find it. As is modeling. but just because some people find it "pornographic" doesn't mean that the said user should be banned for it.

Well posting unneeded photos in a report even after being asked to stop warrants a ban whether it's half naked women or Picasso paintings art doesn't belong in scam reports.

It is. Matthew (I believe) laid down the law and put a stop to images that aren't inappropriate for like 13 year olds. If its something that a normal parent would get upset at their kid looking at, just don't post it.

Stop taking that saying so god damn literal. Its a forum. I should be able to surf the forum in public without a picture of a half naked person popping up which will raise questions on what I was actually doing. This doesn't mean I surf sythe while at work like you're saying "don't fuck around at work" it means that when I'm surfing at home if my parents were to walk up behind me I wouldn't want them thinking wow what are you doing? Plain and simple this is a stupid argument its a simple request don't post anything of this nature outside the spam forum.

Heads has the right of it, any imagery not relating to the scam report, etc should be omitted and punishment handed out for repeat abuse at the staff's discretion.

I would support a reduced ban time to a week instead of a month for this "soft porn" being abused outside of the SF/USF due to it not fully revealing and not being formally classed as porn.

I attempted to reduce the ban length for porn but it was decided to be more appropriate being longer to discourage people from posting it for the lulz.

In all honesty I don't even know why you guys have so much 'trouble' explaining anything. If my mother looked at my computer and asked what am I looking at i'd just say the truth; browsing a forum and well some random guy decided to post a picture. Same with heads signature, it's really creepy as fuck and if anyone asked me what the heck am I looking at well it's as simple as someone decided to put that as their signature in a forum I browse.

I just find it pretty stupid that posting images of pretty much just modeling girls deserves a ban even. Maybe they were posted completely out of context, yes. But even then, anywhere outside of the SF, I don't really even think a picture of someone modeling would deserve a ban.

I mean lets be serious, do you really think this sort of images deserves a ban?

    Warning, apparently this is NSFW for some so click with caution;
    [IMG] [IMG]

Women are clothed, they aren't even -that- suggestive. In my opinion the whole fuss about this images is just silly. Perhaps the fact of posting them in a manner that is out of context as I said before makes a bit more 'sense', but regardless. I think in the future this sort of things should be given simply an infraction and repeated offenses perhaps a week ban.
