FBI arrests Silk Road drugs site suspect

I have noticed a big majority of the sellers joining the Sheep network.

 

Not really too surprised here.

 

I would have expected it to be shut down sooner to be honest... A site that deals explicitly in allowing the sale of illegal drugs... A fairly well known site from the sounds of it.... Who waited this long to get warrants ect?

Seems like it should have been up for 1 year, tops.

Ouch I was wondering where NOD went him and my homie Hatter left around the same time. But NOD was a great vendor. I wanted to try his product but never did.

 

Yeah, I saw that. Sounds like the DEA are raiding all the big US vendors as quick as they can (for the ones they have info on at least).

 

I womder if they are going to try and go after any internationals. Or at least give their info to the appropriate government.

 

I would think they would disclose the information to other governments to arrest the people involved,but who knows with Obama, he probably wants to trade the information for Snowden's head or some stupidity.

I feel as though the internationals are the biggest issue, but they also have the most money and technology as well as guards to back them up I'd assume.

At least people are trying. Doubt the FBI are going to give anything back. BTC doesn't come down as an actual currency in the US I believe.

 

SR gets shut down but others are still operating, and now it's been in the news all around the world surely more users than ever are going to be using These markets...

Also, I read somewhere that there was an article 'explaining' how The FBI actually used some kind of hacks to discover the server location? Anyone Read anything on this?

Casual users probably aren't going to get in trouble, there's too many of them to target anyway. You know, maybe there will be a handful every now and then just to keep the scare alive, but don't think just because you purchase something that cops are going to come knocking at your door.... Proxy or not...

Just like a previous poster said, there are ways to not be traced. The ones that get busted are high-school dweebs that listen to their friends advice and take absolutely no precaution in securing their activity. I mean anything illegal you buy in RL can be traced too... And quite easily because I don't know how many of you wash your money when you go buy drugs.

 

So what happens to Silk Road? is it shut down for good by the FBI?
