Thinking of starting to kiln/fire cape for people.

I've been doing fire cape/kiln on quite a few different accounts of mine/friends for a few months now on EOC (and also did quite a few jads and 2-3 kilns pre eoc).

I'm thinking of starting a service and my first thought for services was sythe. but i have a few questions.

How can I prove my legitimacy for my first few vouches?
How cluttered is this sort of service area? is there enough people requesting this sort of service?

 

When I joined sythe I was doing fighter torsos for people. I did my first 5 for free, maybe you should do something like that too?

also, as people will avoid going first. Use a middleman with anyone you don't trust. You will build up vouches like this and get trusted sooner or later.

 

how do middlemen work for services? I'm real new to the MM way of working, since i've only done it for close friends or people that trust me.

I think i'll actually do that, I'm more than happy to work for free to build up respect/vouches! Gonna do a quick cape+kiln run later for the screenshot required.

 

If someone MM'd your service trade they would hold the payment from the other party until you have completed the service and once that has been confirmed, they would give you the payment.

On sythe there are OMM's (Official Middlemen) which are identifiable by the rank that they have (I am one) and they are the most trustworthy users alongside moderators to use for middlemanning. The drawback for this is that a lot of OMM's charge fees.


Since the trade won't be worth a lot however, you could use a very trusted regular MM instead. That way you can avoid the fees.

 

what kinda fee's, a percentage or a set amount? and is it common to use the same mm over and over if you find one you trust, or is that frowned upon?

You can use the same MM/OMM over and over if you trust them, it is up to you and you are the one that will be trusting them so feel free. You only have to convince the other party to use that user as the MM/OMM.

 

You'll also need a screenshot of you getting a kiln/fire cape (I.e. Your sythe name in the chat box when Jad's dying) before you can start taking orders.
