Kind of makes me laugh.

Both parties have already agreed on a budget, they are both just pushing to tack on their agendas so they won't compromise XD

 

As usual, the Republicans want to keep the poorest in society poor, denying them access to healthcare is one way to realise their sick ideology. Republicans need to stop acting like spoiled brats and get on with it - 8 billion $ a day for being on shutdown just adds to the US' 16 trillion $ debt.

 

Yeah... No. Doesn't work that way.

 

Ironically, the day when the US Government shuts down is 4chan's birthday.

 

This hasn't happened since 1995.

Can someone please explain to me what exactly is going to be closed down? I know that it's "Non-essential services" and some 800,000 jobs will be put on hold, but what jobs and what services?

That's what I've been able to take from it. Is the main fuss that 800,000 people aren't being paid?

 

Dang, will only last to the 17th before reaching the debt ceiling apparently. Let's hope they figure it out.

 

It's hilarious how childish they are acting.

 

I care about absolutely none of these. In fact, one of them is even positive!

 

I live in the UK, health care is free however there's no stopping those pesky traffic wardens from slapping you with a £70 fine - sadly.

As for the jobs, we have too large a gov't either way. The $8 billion extra debt/day will not help much at all, but we need a system that cuts back on our spending we are going too far into debt.

 

I wonder why systems like health care for everyone works for a majority of the world, but not in the US. Hmmm....

 

Different cultures really. It's also possible that the US is subsidizing the health care costs of the world by paying more and giving corporations an incentive to make new drugs.

 

This is another thing I don't get about you crazy Americans. Is the debt ceiling the amount of debt the Government is allowed to have? How is it that they're able to seemingly easily "Raise" it?
