R2 was doing a service of selling the partyhat. The seller agreed to let him on his account. The sellers account is not r2's responsibility.

 

Wasn't he selling his "own phat" to R2?

Maybe I'm missing something? Unless the user approached R2 and asked him if he would sell his partyhat for him than R2 owes him the $750.

 

r2 doesn't buy items. the user hired r2 to sell the partyhat for him, with the agreement that in return he would sell the resulting gold at a certain rate. the seller did not secure his account or provide a legitimate means do complete that service and ended up getting his account reset. the way I see it it is completely the seller's fault.

 

R2 was in control of the goods, he should pay or be hit with a TWC.

 

Alright, I agree that does change the situation. I was thinking that might have been the case but obviously the entire skype conversation wasn't posted. Its interesting that he was nearly instantly banned for real world trading however, it makes me question the ip that R2 used. Shouldn't he have at least some kind of responsibility for that?

I think cause the goods were being held by him he is some what liable, however there is no evidence that the IP was the sole reason for the account being banned, could even be a coincidence? Therefore this is a case of bad luck and r2 isn't entirely liable, the seller should understand allot of risk is involved with trading never assume your money is secure, it's not just hacks and scams that can fuck you over... R2 could provide some sort of compensation as this did go public to cool things off with his rep but it would be just out of good faith from him and not an omission of guilt/responsibility, altho something like that is upto r2

I haven't been around very long on Sythe.org but from what I've heard R2P is a very respectful and trustworthy person - Syed speaks very highly of him whenever we're in a call.
If you look at his threads he has $40k+ in his paypals, he wouldn't scam $750 if he thought it was fair, he's a smart guy and he knows what he's talking about, the person who placed the scam report is very sketchy.

To be honest it's just some 20 year old over charging kids for their gold. Doesn't really take any talent you just have to sit on your ass long enough to get enough trades. He pays his workers slave wages, I don't even think illegal immigrants get paid that low. And basically every other market. I know for a fact popular sellers buy there gold for as low as 50% of what they sell it for sometimes, or a lot of times. Btw, I'm not "slagging" anyone for selling GP, I don't care RS is a fun game when you are younger or when you get into it. I still deal with GP. You comparing Bitcoins to GP though should get you banned. Bitcoins is a cryptocurrency, you can actually buy real life shit with it. You can buy basically anything with them on Bitcointalk.org or through TOR. There's also people who makes millions every year selling drugs, illegal passports, IDs, License Plates etc, unregistered guns, and illegal services using Bitcoins too, RS market doesn't even come CLOSE to that.
