I see that many people say that by getting their ID and so on, they win majority of disputes. My request is that would anyone be willing to actually explain to me what they do in order to win the disputes.

    Thanks

It doesn't exactly help you win disputes, just helps prevent them from happening since it lowers the chance of stolen accounts.

It is more a scare tactic. Usually a scammer will be hesitant to hand over their identity because once you get it you can potentially do a lot of things with it. If you know his name and what he looks like, it wouldn't be hard to find his facebook, twitter, etc. and mess with him.

More often scammers are hesitant to send ID because the can't. The vast majority of chargeback scams are from hacked paypal accounts, not a scammer's personal account.

Well after about 5 unauthorized disputes paypal asks you for more information about yourself and they limit your account so usually they get caught using hacked paypals. Also if the user sends his information to you, you can easily track where the paypal account is from then look up the user if the states, countries are different most likely the paypal is hacked also ask for recent transaction pictures ect. Id paypal name see if it matches all that good stuff. Just push the buyers to the secure limit if they bail out then there most likely a scammer or you pissed them off lol

I've dealt with disputes a few different ways before finding the one way that always works.

Some past methods I've used are quite low, however they are very effective. I've called parents before, called places of work, or even called schools. In most cases, once word gets out that you don't take things lightly, they stop coming your way.

SmokinShop.com does about 2000 transactions a month which result in 3-5 disputes, and your best friend is knowing a lot about the disputer. If you receive an unauthorized chargeback, you're pretty much done. Anything else is fair game and can be stopped.

The idea behind getting I.D. (from my perspective) is that as long as you make sure it matches the name on their PayPal, unauthorized payment disputes are nearly impossible - you have physical and virtual proof of consent to payment from the same person, which is pretty much definitive evidence in your favor.

You'd be quite surprised, in fact the majority of Scam cases that I sorted when I was a staff member of sorts, the member had everything under their own name. This was a couple of years back though.

Get an email from the email on the account, then have them scan their id and send it to you as an attachment.

if they are willing to do this, they are probably not a scammer as you could do many things to them on facebook, twitter, etc and you could harass them IRL for the money they owe you.
