Skype Buttons

The new skype button as follows:

This button can be clicked and used to automatically add me to skype, preventing people from searching my name and adding imposters. However I noticed on sythe when I click this, a warning message comes up.

If possible, it should be changed so that there is no warning message since this may come across as sketchy to a prospective customer when they are actually doing the best thing possible to avoid being scammed.

If it somehows gets limited to disable warning only for SKYPE: external link then I support this

Support on the condition that it can be done just for links like that and that doing so would still be completely secure.

If implemented, I would likely start using such a link as well.

 

I would also support this if it were possible for only Skype links. This is easily the best and simplest ways for buyers and sellers to add the right Skype

 

I don't know about this. People could use the image but have the link go somewhere else. If it can be coded to only take the message away when adding people on the real skype program, I support.

 

Well, that can be sorted by only removed the warning from the Skype links like you get when clicking the Skype button.

support, shouldnt be too hard to remove custom redirect for any links starting with 'skype:' (and eventually 'mailto:' cause those'll likely have the same problem)

Shouldn't be too hard, maybe putting this in a popup would help, just like the 'message me on skype' button in your profile/posts.

 

I don't think it should be removed to be honest just due to the fact that someone could accidentally have clicked the button, would be silly for Skype to activate etc... A happy solution could be a less sinister message saying something like "you are about to add this person on Skype" if possible rather then you are leaving sythe, however if this isn't possible would support op suggestion
