Get rid of your skype impersonators!

Hey guys
Recently I had problem with impersonator of mine 'live.zuzel14' he was pretty successful, menaged to add 12 people, scammed like 4. Anyways, that's not the point of the thread.
The point is I'll share with you method that helped me today to get rid of this cunt for totally free to keep market abit safer.
I'll try to lead you step by step how to deal with your skype impersonators (who have smiliar skype names to you)
You'll need the following:

• Your goverment ID (student's card wont work I'm afraid, can be 16+ Driving license)
• 1-2 pictures of skype impersonation attempt. For me those were good enough: Example #1 / Example #2.0 / Example #2.1
• Some patience, some of Skype support agents are really slow.

Firstly connect to Skype livechat under this link:

You'll need to pass short verificaton process. In my case they just asked for my skype login and full name.

After that, you need to explain shortly to skype support what is your problem. I said I'm fairly trusted and reputable member of craiglist of virtual goods site. yep I'm not sure if it's properly written and I got problem with person who has exactly same skype ID as mine and is adding my customer to scam them.
After that agent asked me for impersonator's skype login, after some waiting he requested screenshots (scroll up to list) to be sent via e-mail.

After I sent him them he checked something and here we go, he's gone

Regular/non reputable traders
You can get rid of reputable member's imposters too! Just tell skype support impersonators are harrasing you

 

Will they actually ban? I mean who's to say you own that name?

 

Yep poof there gone baby. They actually take the user's account off of skype so its like the user was never there.

 

Do you know if they make it so the name can't be created again?

 

accounts are not deleted they are just disabled for harrasing

This might be viable for some smaller traders, but those that have a lot of impostors, this method will be a never ending cycle. I appreciate the guide though. I'll try and give it a shot.

 

It's quite good, I'll definitely use this if I have a larger imposter whose Skype is really close to mine, but obviously people will just keep creating new names, which over time will become a lot of effort to remove. For the safety of the community however, thanks for posting this.

 

Thx taking the time to investigate and show this method. As Smokingshop said it's a never ending circle. Just do this in your spare time to hangout the good guy preventing even the people who can't read from being scammed.

Yup, I was about to reply to Smokin's post. It's good to eliminate very good impostor names like I had.
For example
I had tons of impersonators, but lately there was guy using skype ID live.zuzel14 , my skype ID is live:zuzel14
He got 12 people added on day when I contacted Skype livechat and 4 people reported to me they have been scammed by him. None of my previous impostors had that high success rate. Even with alot of features to prevent impersonator scams such as 'Always request PM before trading' 'Click here to add my skype' Images with my skype login + note to check if it matches 'live:zuzel14' he succeed.

 

Back in my dicing days, people would fall for the worst imposters. At the end of the day the sad truth is no matter how bad the name is, people will fall for it. I've done this with a few that were similar. I've noticed that imposters gravitate to those that use live in the name because there are dozens of ways to imposter that word.

Perhaps a good method would be to just stick to names without live, and just use Skype on it's own (if that makes sense).

This is great for all us little guys, but how would it fare when you are on chat trying to get rid of 20-30 imposters?
