Weed saving a life

Hey guys, well I can't sleep and i've been thinking about a lot of shit tonight. Like today, I have a really close friend that I really never knew much of his life today. Honestly this affected me so much but I was really high and forgot about it 5 minutes later. My friend literally told me in 8th grade, he tried to kill himself. He is a completely real, so happy, awesome guy. He said god literally wanted him to stay here, he said one night he was just so down and his parents were fighting and he just couldn't take it, he said he put a gun to his head, and he said he pulled the trigger, and the gun jammed.

Like seriously in all honestly, I believe my friend when he told me this story, what would you gain in life from lying and he is one of the realest most generous people I have ever met in my life. It just makes me think, like what are the chances of that literally happened. It makes me almost believe in god and that he wanted my friend to stay on this planet because he was worth more than that. After that night, he turned his life around, perfect grades, made all kinds of friends, and he said he smoked weed everyday and it literally was the only reason he was happy. He has never had a thought like that since.


To me this story dude, its deep. I just wanna hear some input lol

Interesting, but I still think weed should be put on the negative side of things.

 

He smoked weed after that happened so I don't know how that saved his life. He did get lucky though, if it's true.

Why?

 

Not really negative, it's your own body, so do whatever you want with it, but in my opinion, (it's not allowed in HK), so I don't have much of an understanding of it, but from my knowledge I wouldn't take it under any circumstances.

Only negative thing that everyone tells me is "It decreases your IQ". Which is false.

Just wanted to know why you felt that way.

I don't think the weed saved his life, I think the gun jamming saved his life. Weed makes you feel good, makes you forget about your problems for a little while, it's not a long term solution for stuff like this though. If he's using weed as a substance to forget about his suicide problem then maybe he needs serious help, you can't keep running to weed because of your problems.

The problem that arises when using weed to escape life's problems is that it's commonly a gateway drug to more serious drugs like amphetamines.

While I do agree that the story is deep and I'm glad your friend lived to tell the tale, I wouldn't go around praising weed for him surviving. Get him some real help, therapy, a councellor, a doctor's appointment - anything. Depression isn't something that just goes away by smoking weed, it often returns when untreated.

He's just drug abusing now. Its not a permanent solution. but then again I truely don't know what is..

i see more of Gun jamming saving his life.. and him seeing it as a gift and taking it as a chance to make his life better
