To clarify, i'm not suggesting re-applying to re-establish your community reputation. I understand how frustrating the process of becoming an omm is.

If the user is inactive for a specific time frame (5 months is too long), their rank should be taken and held until they can provide the evidence needed to reclaim their identity.

However, I also think you should have a minimal mm trades you have to maintain such as modscore, even if it's 1.

Boxur, you're being ignorant, open your eyes and read.
No support, this was earned and took plenty of time for them.

They lose their rank after a certain amount of time. We came up with this system back when Nick was an admin. I'm not sure if it's actually being enforced or if the time scale needs a bit of changing but he system does exist.

Look at it like this, OMM's are more trusted than moderators, as anyone can become an OMM. Moderators are chosen by the staff. OMM's shouldn't lose their ranks, the current system works fine.

In that case you're either a vading banned OMM or a vading banned failed applicant.

Exactly why there should be a change. The more time you spend on something the more you build a bond with it, vice versa.

Not only does a return from a long absence with no detail of leaving to begin with raise some concern, the possibility of the longed-inactive user selling his/her account for a profit or being hacked should also be taken into consideration.

That's a bit ignorant and quite possibly the stupidest thing you've published since I've been here.

    http://www.sythe.org/middleman-appl...111s-third-mm-application-getting-proofs.html - 3rd attempt

    http://www.sythe.org/denied-middlem...08-i_dont_bots-omm-application-completed.html - 600 vouches, denied

    http://www.sythe.org/denied-middlem...bsgpsellers-2nd-mm-application-completed.html - 2nd attempt

It doesn't take a detective to acknowledge the process of being selected is hard.

I agree with yaroow. The rank just officiates your trustworthiness.

After long inactivity I think it should be removed because you don't know their intentions for returning. I'm not sure if this is enforced because hhn was inactive for quite a while and only recently has he been active.

We discussed the whole mandatory actual MMing thing a while back (and a few times before that too IIRC) and decided against it. Personally, I'm not a fan of it either. As for part of your post about activity, we have such an "OMM sweep" system set in place and I will ask n4n0 to conduct another activity check when he is able to. Thanks for reminding us.

edit - I asked n4n0 to and he'll be conducting one soon. Thanks again.
