Well, I was going there to buy Steam Wallet cards for the second time (Due to the fact they were just released)
And I notice....
A price change.....

for a $20 it now costing us Australians $22
for a $50 it's now costing us $55

Do you believe this is bullshit and a way to get them self's more money...

I only uses this due to the fact, I don't like my parents credit card details online.....

 

It is a business, not a charity. You can't expect them to offer a service without charging for it.

But what they were saying about a service is that they will sell PSN/Microsoft cards for the same price as their face value.

 

I haven't used steam in a long long time but the reason I'm guess that the cards are selling for $22 AUD might be because the card with give you $20 USD credit. In this case it makes sense since the current exchange rate is 1 US Dollar equals
1.06 AU Dollar

 

This right here, you need to take into account the exchange rate seeing as the cards are valued in USD and not AUD.

 

Yes, but places sell things that are $20 for $15 to the EB Games. MSP worth $20 sell for $20, PSN giftcards that are $50 sell for $50.

 

I see both sides of the argument! But also see the us part? what happens if the market goes back to 80 cents for dollar for usa? Would they keep it at $20 to rip us off? Yeah I bet they would...

 

They're resellers.

Just like resellers in the gold market, they're selling to make a profit

 

Just like here in the US. Depending on the state, they actually charge you sales tax on top of what you have to pay for the card. That is the exact reason why I stopped buying game cards in store.

Might be because the $50 card is $50 USD and not $50 AUD which is why they charge more because of the exchange rate since you're paying in AUD, not USD.

This. We pay a huge amount extra on games that come in disc format due to taxes and shipping and whatnot. I'm hardly surprised that we're paying more here. It's just a few dollars.
