    Gold Farming vs Hosting

Hey I'm just making a quick thread on what you guys think makes more IRL cash.

    MASS Gold Farming
or back when Dicing/Flowers were around Hosting in a big Clan such as Win all day, dragon dyce, or fishy.

Well my friend "feelgewd" got into hosting and he's always telling me the massive amounts of profit he's making.

I really don't think gold farming is worth it anymore due to the decrease of items and bans going on lately.

    hmm good question
when gambling was still able to do in EoC runescape i was swapping 1-3b a day when 1b was 110-140$ profit per bill. for now it's even better but the effort is more hard because the exchange ratio is way less

i don't know much about goldfarming, there are suppliers i know they make atleast 50M 07 a mill but they use probably alot of accounts

imo if you mean hosting as in swapping gp's from 07 to EoC, i'd say hosting.

Depends on how much your clan is trusted.

Id say gold farming to start on like 25+ accounts.

    Voted hosting <3

Possibly not as profitable anymore post gambling ban, but still good for a few hundred bucks a day in #dragondyce or sm.

    Hosting would make more.

But that's only if you were successful at it, and had people to bet. Got more then just small bets, yada yada.

I had my own Gold Farm in 2012 (from June to October). Well, those were nice days to farm gold. Now, there are massive bans, the prices of the items are lower and lower every time, the bot clients are becoming really bad too.

I've never 'hosted' but discard Gold Farming from your options.

Definitely hosting, not to mention it is 100x less stressful than goldfarming. Back in the day I was in a clan that did nothing except bettor vs bettor duels (hosts were not allowed to call big bets). So it was no risk, easy $400-500 a day. My best day was 1.5k. I'm sure clans that did 60x2 made even more since host vs bettor games usually attract larger bettors.

Goldfarming is annoying because you have to put up with bans, retraining accounts, getting membership, getting dedicated servers, etc. Hosting is just you log in, make money, log out.

With that being said, the potential with mass goldfarming is far greater. If you hire workers to help run your farm, you could constantly expand it == more profit.

I was ranked in A Dds for awhile and made some major profit off of hosting. Hosting back then was major cash, though I only sold to friends since I didn't know Sythe existed.

Hosting is more of a direct risk imo, but you can make TONS by hosting. So i'd say hosting.
Gold farming is good too if you have multiple bots running

Gold farming for sure compared to an individual taking bets on RuneScape.

Someone had 1k bots running over 28 hp proliant. He managed to hit 2b gp a day which was, as what kmjt said, what hosts made on a normal day. Basically $500.

At most that farmer could make 50b a month when we put in down time, but Id say around 30b to be realistic. It is not easy to transfer gold and keep track of accounts. 30b would be each account making 80k an hour and running for 13 hours a day. 30b after his electricity bill($1.6k) at the rate of .3/m on average, this is also being generous, he would come out with about $7k a month. And a mass ban could decrease that 30b by quite a bit.

A host, even these days, could make the equivalent easily a day with much less effort.

Neither are nearly as profitable anymore (Jagex bans much more), but probably hosting.

Hosting purely because of the prices of items. Resources are dropping still to this very day.

If we're talking glory days, then definitely being a host in a reputable dicing clan (DD/WAD/etc) was much more profitable and much less of a hassle.

Botting is decent consistent cash but it's a lot of upkeep (bots getting stuck in randoms, transferring wealth, selling things, tracking auth codes, renewing memberships, etc)
