ShowTime Series: "Weeds"

So I've been addicted to the television series Weeds.
I started Season 1 Episode 1 about a month ago; I am now on Season 8 Episode 5.

I came to find out that season 8 is the last season =\
At this I was very sad, because that means I only have a handful of episodes left till its over! I will surely miss the Botwin family and Nancy's crazy endeavors.

I guess this thread will be just based on the memories of Weeds and all the love you share(d) for the series.

I am curious as to why they decided to just end it after only 8 seasons though? .... seems like it was such a big hit and it was such a great show all around!

Every episode was filled with comedy, drama, and at the end of every episode something suspenseful happened which made you HAVE to watch the next one...just a great show all around...WHYYYYYY SHOW TIME?!?!?!... WHYYYY?!?!


also, this was one of the only tv series I had ever gotten into...anyone suggest another series I start that are similar in any way? Preferably with many seasons and still on-going to this day?

 

I never personally watched this show, but my mom was addicted to it.

 

Ratings dropped, weeds peaked at season 4 with 1.3m viewers. It dropped to about half of that, if not less, on average on the last season. This is also when dexter became a huge hit, so more people on showtime. Dexter has been consistently getting 2m viewers since season 7, hitting a peak of 2.7m. When weeds started it was one of showtime's best shows, but with dexter becoming a big hit, they started expecting more from its shows.

I havent watched it, but Ive started to run out of shows, and I think this will be next on my list.

8 seasons is a long run though.

 

I lost interest in weeds after like season 4 or 5. Was a good show though up until then.

 

I stopped watching after they got to the Mexican Mayor. After they burned the town down, it just started getting worse and I got tired of it.

 

If you liked Weeds you will love Breaking Bad. Pretty much the same, except meth instead of weed lol.

 

Yeah as said above it started to suck in the later seasons, but I would recommend Breaking Bad or Prison Break if you like shows with drama and shocking endings.

 

I really liked Weeds (at least the first 3 or 4 seasons) but I really do not like Breaking Bad. I am forcing myself to watch it and I just think it's not very good. All of the characters are really fucking stupid. Like. Borderline retarded. I also don't really think there is all that much going on in it. And it makes absolutely no sense. Oh no I have lung cancer better cook some meth and kill people instead of taking money from the rich people. Also: where in hell in America do they live where a public school teacher doesn't have good health insurance? I just can't see why everyone thinks its so good. I don't see anything special. I'm nearing the end of season two.
