07 Extreme Nostalgia Moments?

I'm not sure about you guys, but, as for myself, I'm in '07 for the Nostalgia value it can provide, as for me, started back in 2005 so playing this now reminds me a lot of my good 6th grader times ^^

For instance, back in the actual year of 2007, I heard "Bat Country" from Avenged Sevenfold for the first time while slaying Mountain Trolls in the Death Plateau.

Doing that right now, and having an Extreme Nostalgia Attack ^^

Anybody else ever feel these extreme nostalgia moments as well?

Yep, first day of 07 the login screen and music brought back most nostalgia

 

Bat Country <3 <3 <3.

That song is the soundtrack to so many of my youthful summers.

I would listen to Detroit City by Eminem training on Rock Crabs all the time.

 

First thing I did on 07 was go to ardy and thieve. I remember back in 03 runescape used to have a "why you should upgrade" section and I remember the picture of the guy in full dragon thieving from stalls in ardy. Only reason I bought membership.

I agree with that, the first day of Oldschool servers, logging into that old-style game with the old interfaces and music... it was really nice. Even though the graphics are so much lower scaled than the current Runescape, it still holds its own style, not worse not better, just different and unique.

The same concept can be applied to modern video games and oldschool games, like Super Mario; sure the graphics and features cannot amount to modern day games, but that feeling of originality and distinctive game play cannot be matched.

I remember seeing a similar picture of those membership picture advertisements but it was for Runescape Classic (at that time, the normal Runescape). Thieving in Ardougne but with a Dragon Helmet/Sq. shield and Rune armor (since only two pieces of dragon armor existed then). Is this what you're referring to?

Ha always fun. I remember doing that as well, near Varrock ya? I also remember killing normal wizards for their hats & tops.

 

Ha, I remember becoming a member for the first time. Those were the days, man. Grinding at rock crabs for 60 attack... geez.

 

I first player in 07 & for the life of me I couldn't even afford full adamant. I had to scam my full mith.

I used to train at the goblins beside the food shop in port sarim & I was just walking past it yesterday doing a quest.

Luckily I can make a bit more money now haha

 

Definitely the Newbie Melody on tutorial island, followed by the other song in Lumbridge. I used to hang with like 12 good friends I met on there. Jeez right after school I would go on all the time.

World 33 Varrock middle is where all the cool kids hanged out. I re-visited hoping to find my old friends maybe playing. I was so excited, walking slowly there, anticipating everyone to still be there just like before. As I arrived, just pure emptyness resides at that spot now. Burnt a hole in my heart. I guess we really grew up... :'(

 

For me it was the f2p and low level quest, many of which I did in 2003/2004. However my current main was made in 2006, and many of those quests were completed in 2006/7.

Hearing that loading screen music for the first time in years was amazing.

Pking someone in wild for their mithril armour, and everyone complimenting me on my armour. Who compliments mithril anymore...so sad. No low level content.

Doing hit and run Sara solo's with cbow. Running a box around the room with terrorbird. One hilt drop = richer than all your friends.

 

The time I felt most nostalgic was while running around Tutorial Island and starting off in Lumbridge. Starting with nothing and not have a G.E where I could go and make a mill off in my first day made things really difficult which was great. Other than that, completing Underground pass and Lost city were amazing. I remember getting membership for the first time and completing Lost City + Underground pass (And its preceding quests) were the first things I did. Re-completing them hit some soft spots.

 

As a 5th grader I used to dream every night that I would pk a party hat at mage bank. Still hasn't happened -.-

 

Well it felt kind of cool playing the first day of 07 with all my friends on skype freaking out about it coming out and logging in.

Everybody trying to get off tutorial island ASAP because we were affraid that we would be unable to finish it because of lagg if too many people would've logged on. Then somebody said "HEY GUYS TALK TO SKIPPY, YOU CAN SKIP TUT ISLAND". Then all race to the stronghold of security for the free 10k.

Next race to draynor, and get 5 thieving from mans to be able to steal cakes from the stalls. Then by boat to karamja and ardounge to grab a full supply of cakes, watching out not to die by market guards.

Then waterfall quest, trying not to get one hit by moss giants and fire giants and get dropped for your 10k (bankloot). Then return to lumby for vampire slayer and walking around as a lvl 24 after 30 minutes with 30 att and 30 str while everybody is only level 3-10. Everybody following you and asking how you've managed to do it.

Yep, awesome. But GWD and other shit updates are going to ruin any sense of oldskool + the economy + PKing.

 

Falador park gave me some extreme nostalgia. I've quit playing now due to the lack of players and activity, it was good while it lasted though.

 

When I accidentally had my music on and I walked through barb village.... The feels.

The days of looting cooked meat and trying to kill Gunthor the Brave (usually ended up dying)

 

STRAIGHT Nostalgic. I have been playing the game w/ sounds on and it brings back sooo many memories. I have noticed people are a lot more nice. There is so much more player-to-player interaction.
