Is it okay to cheat on an Exam/Test?

Cheating in school tests etc never bettered me in anyways other than making myself feel better and made me seem better to those around me than I actually was. You're lying to yourself when you do it, so haven't done it since I was really young (And when I was more competitive!)

Well you cant say that considering people spend money on this game? Hell some people even have jobs of this game? It's still cheating?

Not talking about scholarship tests or final examinations more like just general homework that you either pass/fail

Edit: also if you are a uni student no matter what your marks are no one gives a shit

Runescape doesn't affect the rest of peoples lives. It's a game.

A lot of results are just numbers, if people do well on average they'll higher the pass mark, if they do badly on average they'll lower it. The more people who cheat, the less likely that people who have put in work and deserve to pass, will.

Cheating is only gonna get you so far. Make the effort to study and actually learn something. Forget about screwing other people over; you're denying yourself knowledge by cutting corners. Keep it up and you're gonna hit a wall sooner or later.

Well what about famous rs players who now have jobs of rs you can't say their life isn't affected, and not just them others who play video games and excel to be able to make a living get hurt by others cutting corners?

Fair enough, i really am surprised by the collective view since like i said it's really a non issue here

Not sure what you're talking about, how does it negatively affect their lives? I only see positives. If you would say their job has become to help rid of rwt and bots, then they got a job because of it. Not sure again on what you mean others play video games and excel 'to be able to make a living'? And how do others "cut corners" in said video games. You're not making a lot of sense when it comes to explaining how it has a negative impact.

To whom? Other students who cheat, the faculty, or both? What makes you think it's a non-issue?

Also, where do you go to school, if you don't mind my asking? You can just say the country you live in and the kind of institution you attend (high school, college, university, etc).

Universities only hand out so many scholarships each year. I would be extremely pissed if a cheated mark costed me a scholarship that went to the cheater.

I don't think cheating is right, a test is to get a general idea of how well you done in particular subject, cheating in it disrupts the concept of it.

Surgeons are put through much harder shit than what you think. They can't simply "cheat" their way to a postion like this. They're chosen carefully.

Agreeable, but you need school to get in to college/university. Then you use "that shit" when you work. Unless you're going to work in McDonalds or something for the rest of your life.

Obviously, but it was to put my point across.

I think this entire thread is if you care that you cheated on a basic subject test. In my opinion if you are not caught you deserve the outcome for the effort you've put in.

What about the others who worked for it? Do they deserve possibly being moved from something like being in the top 10 to the 12th because of a couple of cheaters? I dont care how, there are quite a few ways it screws people over, and if you think thats fine then you're just lazy and selfish. And just because you cheat it in one subject, whats to stop you from cheating in the others?

I would be pissed if someone undeserving became the valedictorian because they cheated in a few tests. That could screw my application in the future, let us say me and him are applying for the same job, he gets it because he was the valedictorian. Yeah, he deserves it because he wasnt caught, and I dont because I didnt cheat as well.

Hardly. I'm from Melb too, and even in VCE there is quite a bit of competition in the later year levels of high school unless you simply don't give a fuck, and people do care if you cheat. The same applies for universities, though it's not really your peers caring anymore, just the uni itself. Plagiarism or cheating can have pretty serious consequences in uni.

I'm not a saint, I've cheated several times, but I never cheated in subjects I knew I would need later on. Also anyone who cheats all the way throughout his school years is boring to talk to and it pisses me off when people can't even learn their own first language. You should never cheat on that class.

If you have to cheat, you don't understand what you learned. Plain and simple. Now I'm not saying I've never cheated before, I'm pretty sure everyone has. But, I really try not to unless needed. But overall, yes I personally believe it's a bad thing to make a habit of.
