Report Post Note Addition

Problem: I believe plenty of (new) users don't realise that after they report a post, that in some cases, the moderator who deals with it might actually reply with a response. I also believe a lot of these users wouldn't know how to locate or find that report again. My main concern is I've seen numerous occasions where a user reports another user for scamming via the report a post function, but due to being ignorant they never actually see the response which tells them to post proof in the RaSc for example; in turn nothing comes of it and said scammers potentially could be getting away with their crimes.

Suggestion: Ideally I would ask for moderators to PM the user when there's a direct response to a report or if it's scam related (e.g. asking for more proof/post proof in the RaSc etc.) However, from previous suggestions, I know this is highly unlikely. So instead I'm simply suggesting an addition to the report post note, so users are fully aware on how they can locate any responses and their report again.

Support, I know there's a lot of people that don't know how to find their reports.

 

Not only would it help "special" users like -Ryan find their reported posts, it would also help newcomers.

 

No reason to not support, great idea.

 

Best approach to this could be to add another check box (alongside to show signature and close thread).

I support this as well. Would be a very helpful tool to find these posts in the future for newer members.

 

As long as it was automated it would be great otherwise I could imagine it would be tedious for moderators to do.

On a similar note: why do we have to search in report a scammer to see our spam reports, they're miscreants but they aren't scammers

 

Oh you mean why is http://www.sythe.org/report-spammer-archive/ a subsection of Anti-Scam? I don't think it is a big deal lol. The people who know how to search it know what it is. =p

 

Yes, but it seems like it is a fair few. Also if you get to the reported posts archive and try to search in there you are unable to do so and it will instead automatically default to searching in all of sythe's forums which is silly.

 

I definitely support this. It seems very easy to implement and it would clear up any confusion for new users.

 

Haha I just recently found out how to find my reports. Good suggestions total support.

 

Completely support even if multiple posts are made on that thread a notification that a post had been made is crucial considering nothing posted would be considered spam and therefore multiple notifications etc wouldn't be annoying (no sarcasm here lazy23 for sectional)

Great thread Lazy. I myself write notes to users when dealing with reports, if they're needed. Support.

 

Would be nice for staff. Way too many times have I had to close a spam report telling the user to make a report in the report a scammer section.

 

Support, the first time I reported a post, I didn't know if the report worked because I couldn't find it.
