Making a sig [help]

Alrighty

I found some renders I want to use, how would I go about making a background?

Also what's a good site for getting different fonts, and how do I get them onto my signature

I'm a complete novice at this sort of stuff I am using the progam gimp, more detailed explanations and suggestions would be greatly appreciated
