Hyperlinking Subforums on the Home Page

Hyperlinking subforums on the home page would be a small change, but it would make things a bit easier.

If you don't know what that means, here's an example of a forum that has it done:

That might look a bit cluttered as well. Personally, I think it might be a good idea, but I'm not sure. I'm just going to say support =p.

Would like to see this happen, but dont you think for some sections there are just too many subsections?

 

I thought about this and mentioned it, but later on I thought perhaps some sections could be excluded... so that there's a max of X = ??? subforums listed.

I know if LoL was hidden, I'd be like DO THIS UPDATE MORE PLEASE. Especially since usually I just ctrl+f when I want to read the LoL stuff =p.

 

Definitely support this.

Off-Topic is a giant pain in the ass now, hyperlinks would make the section a bit more tolerable.

 

Subforums are pretty much already listed, they'd just need hyperlinked - so it wouldn't really make it more cluttered which was my original concern

 

Yeah my original thought was leaving it exactly as is except changing the text to hyperlinks, making clutter a non-issue.

 

Support, would make everything a lot easier and probably wouldn't take much time at all.

 

Support, I love change when it comes to Sythe especially when it is something small that can be a very natural thing long term (example adding a log out button that clears cache so you can log out if you are banned when visiting the site)

I think it would help activity within the more hidden sections so yes, support.

Yeah Pockets thats good but what will you do with bigger sections such as user services?

 

Just a random thought, if the sub-forums are all hyperlinked, who would read the stickys in the parent forum?
For example, if I were a newcomer, just here to sell a runescape 3 character of level 200 combat, I would be clicking the correct hyperlink on the homepage.
I wouldn't even even bother going through all the Parent forums, who in this case contain valuable information regarding Facebook-linked related scams.
Mind, the rules of the forums are still in the subforums, but not all sticky's are linked in subforums.

It would be a bit larger, but I don't think it would be problematic at all.

Excellent point. I think it's easy enough to just have all the stickies for the forum applied to the subforums as well. It would be even better that way than the current system since now people are likely to miss stickies when going directly to their desired subforum.

True, links or redirects to the stickys would fix this issue yes.
It's a very nice suggestion, however they should be linking the important stickys in every sub-forum as you said
