My paypal

Okay, so this is pretty much a long story that I will shrink it up...
My brother and I had separate paypals with the same address so they were both limited. I took a break from online shopping for a while Until i could receive a new debit card. Well lately I have been receiving emails that are like full of Chinese or Japanese characters and they were from paypal. I threw those words in a Google translator and it was talking about this insufficient bank account funds. I logged into my bank account and luckily my money has still been there so they didn't have access to my bank account but these Japanese people have hacked my paypal.. I tried to recover it but the recovery questions have been changed. I really don't know what to do to get my paypal account back. I am the original owner and my email is linked. I have no idea how they got into my account. Please post some suggestions below. Thanks.

 

Did you have any cards previously verified with the account?

 

I used a gift card and I have no clue what the numbers would be

 

If you've never had a credit/debit card, bank account or something a account-routing number verified on the account, forget it. Make a new account, they're obviously not going to get any money.

If you have in-fact had one of the payment methods above, call paypal and they will ask you to verify one of these numbers.

 

Okay, I'll just make a new account. How do you suppose that I could de link my email to my old one?

 

I'm not entirely sure if you can. I would assume not as your email is your login. Close the account and recreate another.

 

Make a new email account specifically for use with paypal and keep the login information stored somewhere safe. Then set it up to forward emails to the email you're used to using, problem solved.
