Should I play again?

I quit RS, when EOC came out.
I really liked the old RS so I'm thinking about to play 07 again.
But I'm not sure if 07 is dieing or not - I want a stable game on which I can rely.

What would you say, yes or no and why.

 

Runescape 07 won't die now, there's loads of players and its still growing, especially when they release some new content like godwars.

 

More oppinions please.

 

took them 4 months to do nightmare zone so if they have to do godwars from scratch (like they're saying) it would take 6monthsish

player count it isn't growing lmfao.. 07 caps 12-13k players online and don't forget almost all eoc bots (goldwarmingwise) went to 07 (obv due to higher value) I doubt the game will live.

since it came out i've been seeling a decline from 60k players -> 50k -> 40k ->30k -> 20k -> 10-15k (now)

I would say no in my opinion, but it all boils down on if you really want to spend time/grind/bot/money the game.

edit: I'd prefer playing an rsps like battlescape which takes 20min to max and just pk (all i do is pk) then grind bandits for 2 months to get 99 str on an initiate pure

There are, as of right now, over 20,000 people on OSRS with more and more coming back to see new content like GWD (which is going to be released in FAR less than the 6 months quoted by funbox - don't throw out figures if you're going to be flat out wrong). Mat K confirmed that God Wars is getting closer and closer, maybe a month and a half or two months tops after the poll ends.

TL;DR : Old School kicks ass

it took them 4 months to release nightmare zone, which was basically just a dungeon with monsters spawn in.

they also stated they're making it from scratch, so i would think it would take 6 months.

also 20k players, congratulations. it's a sunday afternoon when no one works/school. go check during the week at around 10am-2pm

 

Nightmare Zone was from scratch, while on the forums, they've specifically stated that God Wars wouldn't take long at all. I'm not trying to argue. Just saying what I've seen J-Mods post as opposed to random Sythe users who don't even support Old School

 

I would say give it a go, and just hope the nostalgia doesn't wear out too quick

 

It has already been confirmed that GWD is going to be within a couple of months, of not weeks, after polls confirm it for 07RS. Saying it'll take 6 months is, quite frankly, talking out of your rear.

As for OP, it sounds a lot like you would enjoy 07RS if you gave it a chance. If you make an account and buy membership, you can taste it for as much of that first month and then decide - either you like it, or you don't and have only wasted a few dollars.

 

i agree with you if he enjoys it he can play it but i'm not really talking bullshit..
when i played back from april - june their primary excuse was that they had to start coding it from scratch since they don't have the proper tools. in around april-may they made a poll for the nightmare zone which came out a couple of weeks ago.

i don't know how they would code it in a few weeks when a small cave the size of the kbd area with random monsters took the a couple of months.

 

It was confirmed that they were given the tools to do it quicker, meaning not from scratch. I don't pretend to know how, but it has been said on the forums and dev blogs previously. I believe the reason they said that was because up to that point they'd implied doing it from scratch.

 

this is the time to play runescape. i highly encourage anyone to start playing

I'd say it's worth it. Game won't die I would say for atleast 2 - 3 years.
