    Building a New Pc

I've never built a Pc before, nor attempted too, so I have no idea what I am getting into. I want recommendations for parts, some sites I could go too, etc. etc. Any help, really, will be very beneficial.
I'm not too worried about the price, so don't be afraid to throw any ideas out there. Also, I will be getting new hardware as well. (i.e. keyboard, mouse, headset, etc.) So, just throw some ideas or options. It'd be appreciated.

The big things are budget and what you do with your computer. If you give us those it'd be a lot easier for us to give you some ideas.

Those videos should give you a good idea on how exactly one is built.

Playing games (WoW, TERA, Battlefield 4, etc.), streaming, hosting private servers, etc. etc.. Just everything related to games. Budget is $5k, but I can push it to $7k if I have to.

If you can show me proof that you have the funds necessary to build a $7k gaming rig I'd be happy to design a build for you.

no idea why you need proof to link him parts rofl

Neweggs build guide is fairly good.

Here's some advice. Don't spend more then around $1500 on the PC itself anything more and the price to performance goes way down and you're just wasting money. Pls don't say but i want to future proof, you're better off 'future proofing' by spending a maximum of 1500, and then saving up money to build another PC when you feel it's getting outdated(you can transfer half the build over anyway, so it'll be cheaper the next time). get some decent peripherals aswell.

^from Amazon, this build will max pretty much every game atm,
newegg is also a good site, just use the basis of that IMG to choose your parts, can PM me/reply here if you need any part advice.

Because I'm not going to spend a half hour putting together a build that has little to no chance of being built/or the user learning anything from it. If he seriously has $5000-7000 to put into a PC then I'd gladly pick out some high end components for him.

this is a nice build^^ and I would recommend it handily BUT....considering his budget is pretty high, I would recommend putting a bigger power supply in for future's sake.marginal price difference (maybe 40-80 bucks more) so its not much of an expense.

I would also recommend changing the MOBO and CPU to a z87 mobo with a haswell i5 CPU. Again, a marginal difference in price. Maybe $100 dollars difference depending on the mobo and cpu you pick. but imo, no point in building on an old platform in this current day and time. it's only a little more cash, while still keeping the budget under wraps.

The build you suggested, Noodles, is assuming he wants to do a single monitor at 1080P. If he really wants to do a great high end gaming PC 2560x1440 is where its at. A single 780 or dual 770s (dual 760s even) would be the way to go.

If he only wants to run on 1080P then sure, that build will do you fine for now, but you do seem to be skimping on a lot of stuff. A few things immediately jumped out to me.

    • A non modular PSU. Why you would get this on a high end build is beyond me.
    • Lack of a 4770K or 4930K. He said he was wanting to be streaming. A 4670 will work, sure, but the stream quality will be poor. Get a 4770K so you get hyperthreading along with OCing. If you want to go even better get a LGA 2011 socket and roll with a 4930k.
    • H85 motherboard. If you go with my previous suggestion of a K series processor you most likely want a high quality board that can overclock decently. Go with Z87.
    • And finally, that small ass SSD. Get a 256GB, it will be much less annoying in the long run.

With a 5K build water cooling would be the way to go, not sure if you want to do that however. I'll need to know that before I put the time in designing a build.

I can vouch for annoying SSDs. Trying to get shit to install to your normal HDD is a pain in the ass.

Yea he didn't say what res he wanted to game on. and regardless depending on his net that will hold him back more than a 4670 with streaming lol.

I just copy pasted that build from another thread I posted it on, few things I'd change aswell for a higher budget, but I def wouldn't recommend OCing or watercooling for someone new to building PCs.
I've never filled or even got close to filling my 256gb ssd, closest ive got is 100gig free space haha that's why i never rly recommend getting anything bigger.

Anyway, OP, I would defs recommend getting a proper set of headphones and not a set of gaming trash w/ a good soundcard. + a good monitor(either 120hz or 2560*1440) & a mech KB, will make your gaming experience a lot better IMO
