Its not always on free time mate, most of the time its when you have plans, are sleeping, working, etc.

 

Doesn't need to cary over, if you get a job in the city they send you to the academy that re-certifies you regardless of your previous training. Once hired in you have until the academy to claim residency.

 

How convenient! However, I think moving to a different country away from my family would be a decision I would come to regret.

 

I worked as an emergency worker for the 6 months, same thing went for us. A ton of false alarms / getting called back. In the end though, when you do go, it makes it all worth it.

 

Definitely, I enjoy being able to help, even though there are some times when it gets very exhausting, such as days where it exceeds 30 degrees celcius.

 

17-35 box alarms per summer a day, 85% structure fires
11-27 box alarms per winter a day, 75% structure fires
7-9 false alarms
2-7 medicals (only if the medics are unavailable)

Last month we had a slow month, DFD entirely did an average of 77 fires a day, our company did about 20 of those.

If you like what you do and want to be busy move here. You can take vacations and visit your family.

Our shifts are easy too, 2 24hrs a week, that's it. You can pick up extra shifts if you want but for the most part people are greedy.

 

I have too much to leave behind, unfortuately. I'm sure something will turn up for me around here eventually. I'm content where I'm at right now, however there is always room for improvement!
