    Joining the Military

Im in a bit of a situation. I am 21 years old and I want to join the military the Marines. I was in a MCJROTC in High School for 4 year a Second Lt. and a Armed Drill Commander my passion is to be in the Military and become the American Silent Drill Commander. My situation is this. Whenever I was 15 I received a Felony charge of Aggravated Sexual Battery on a Girl because she wanted to engage in sexual activity with me and I did of course being a boy we both thought her parents were not home but they walked in on us. I was on top of her and when she was her parents she started screaming rape. I was given that charge back whenever I was 15 but not I am a registered sex offender at the age of 21 will this stop me from going to the military for good or is there anyway around my charge because I was a minor when it happen.

Have you talked to any recruiters about this? That seems to be your best bet. I am not really familiar with how the military works but I Do know that we have a lot of users in the military. Maybe ask N4n0 about it.

If you were, you may be out of options. I would also advise talking to a specific recruiter and seeing what he or she has to say.

Juvenile felonies are more than likely to be waived than adult felonies. I know the Navy does not take anyone with Felonies.

If you were convicted of the felony, you will not be able to join the Marine Corps. I'm currently a poolee in the corps, and I'm quite familiar with the regulations and exceptions to the laws.

That is the key question were you found guilty if so you're automatically disqualified from joining the armed forces.

Last time I checked they wouldn't take anyone with felonies let alone one of that magnitude.

I think that actually differentiates between your youth and adult record. I talked to a recruiter near me and I'm eligible, though I have no criminal record I still have a youth record with 2 convictions.

Yeah.... you won't get into the military with that, when I went to join the Army, they had to do a sex offender check, they told me that if I failed it I couldn't join, go to find out, after I go to MEPS and go through the physical and everything, I get disqualified for having too many high school SUSPENSIONS lmao....

You might want to ask the current people that work for the military about your situation you'll get the best answers from them

Ask people who are in the military for advice, if you were convicted, then you might not be allowed in/or it will really hurt your chances of getting in

Depends if you received a Youthful offender since you were 15 at the time, if it's on your record just go to your local recruiters office and explain your situation and they will look into it and let you know, just act calm when they ask you questions, and don't say anything stupid like i want to join so i can kill people, ect. They'll find out if your eligible or not.
