Player Auctions

I've seen a lot of sale threads saying: 500 PA rep, or whatever

Does PA rep really mean much? It's like using an OMM everytime you trade. Hardly shows trust. Maybe it's just me.

 

PA works as a MM it does not release money provided until the buyer says the item has been delivered but the buyer must send the money to PA before the item is delivered. It works like this you put an item up for sale. A buyer pays for the Item PA check the payment and verifies it then notifies you that someone has bought your Item. Then you deliver whatever was bought and 3 days later PA pays you for it through your payment options but its safe and PA will put the trustworthiest seller to the top of the list for you. So it is trust.

I guess it just shows that you have the product and are willing to deliver if you know the payment is 100%.

This. With player auctions acting as a MM the person that says they have 500 player auctions rep has not been trusted with anything. Make sure to employ common sense when trading with these people and see past the bullshit.

I wouldn't base someone's credibility on Player Auctions.

Player Auctions is relatively safe. look at how all of their processes work.

 

500 PA rep doesn't necessarily mean you won't scam, since PA doesn't allow you the opportunity, it's just that someone who has 500 PA trades wouldn't likely scam for a trade of a similar amount on Sythe just because they are used to handling that sort of money, it wouldn't be a worthwhile gain.

 

The last 2 posts have absolutely no relevance whatsoever to the original post. I would never take into account or determines ones trust based on their player auctions feedback. Player auctions is a middle man, there is no trust involved at all. Take for example, Fendle, he had very high feedback on PA and scammed a yellow phat here at Sythe.

 

I have no idea why my post was removed... It was fairly relevant to anyone wondering what PA was and if it was worth using.

Basically what i originally said was if you're selling it's got some hefty fee's. It could be used to gain a bit more trust that way since you could be losing money going through them.

Everyone perceives trust in their own manner. I personally value PA feedback adequately less, amidst general vouches, where a MM is not involved; however that being said, my perception of it changes also with the quality and quantity involved. I.E, someone like r2pleasent/Arcus' PA feedback would suffice for me, in tangent with holding value.

 

Generally people who have 500 PA rep don't have a reason to scam you. That's not to say that they're trustworthy, just that they've got successful trades behind them from which they've profited and there's no reason for them to jeopardize their reputation.
