Are you clicking skills to use them?



You can press QWER with your left fingers, generally with your left thumb on the spacebar too, then flick down with your left hand to DF for summoner spells.

 

Some tips: Play on unlocked screen if you don't already, it's better for you. Also you need to start practicing to CS/Last Hit. Your CS is your creep score which means how many minions you've killed. The more minions = the more gold = faster you get your items = carry your game.

 

I started like last week and it's actually real fun, my best advice to you is to watch a lot of streams (go on twitch and watch the ones with the highest viewers) and read the stickies at the top. They both helped me a lot.

If you want an easy to use ranged champion use Ashe, real easy and really effective. Don't buy kha zix, it sucks.

Edit: Also, if you don't know how to build a particular champion either google "best build for x champion" or go to the recommended items tab and build an item, probably not the best way to go but that's what helped me in the beginning lol, as i used to just buy random things and not know how to build my champion.

 

For builds, I use solomid.net

 

Please tell me you're using hotkeys for skills; it's so, so much easier.. I spent my first 15 levels or so clicking the skills and wondering how people combo'ed so well

 

I've never heard about a person who actually clicked on it.. LOL

I use Q, W, E AND R. Lol I'm not that much of a rookie to click skills -.- I'm level 5 now! I've been practicing against bots cause I got raged in a PVP game for being so bad haha.

Even though people rage at you, just play PVP, it will make you better. Playing against bots won't get you better because they do the exact same things everytime.

 

yeah man I truly quit RuneScape in 2009 and haven't cared to really touch a mmorpg let alone a game in general since.

I tried LoL once when it was like brand new and honestly between it just being too advanced for me (so it seemed) and my laggy computer, I just deleted it after the tutorial and haven't been avidly searching for any games anymore.

I want to say sometime late may/early june this year I dled LoL again to see what all the fuss is about (Seriously this game like blew up if you ask me), and I'm telling you right now - I was hooked from the get go. 4 gb ram and a good processor, I actually have a good computer that can run something beside MS paint. League of Legends is one of those games that is a staple for the kind of game it is. It's only 4 years old, but it's mainstream now and I only see it growing to be one of the, if not the, biggest MMORPGs of the decade. This game will go down in history, there's no doubt about it. Of course it's inevitable that the mainstream bubble will eventually pop and the game devs will sell out and another legendary game will be ruined by the greedy wall street folks so I would suggest playing while you can.

I started to ramble, but to get back on topic: this game could be appealing to a lot. It's not what you think it would be at first, the term "don't judge a book by it's cover" really comes into play here. I thought it would be difficult, and for awhile it was trial and error, but honestly now I want to slap myself for thinking this game was too advanced. RuneScape is more advanced by a LONG SHOT.

tl;dr: no matter how young you are, or old, or how big of a gamer you are - I swear just try this game, play the tutorial and a few rounds with the AI bots, and chances are your xbox or ps3 will miss you.

Seriously, I think I'm going to go play now.

 

this. even though it has nothing to do with the topic, seriously this post summarizes everything. you may not get it now/struggle like i did when i first tried it like 2 years ago, but trust me it's one of the best if not best games for PC (don't bring up WoW or RS, those games are JOKES) right now.

This pretty much sums up my feelings. Also, get a mouse. I played using a trackpad (a macbook trackpad with no buttons either!) for some 3 months, then got a mouse and never looked back. Just trust me on that.

 

I told you Zed is hard. -.-

 

Yeah, I'm currently using a macbook with no buttons either, and to combo and maneuver the player, it's quite difficult.

I was originally using Zed, he is a bit hard for me to get the hang of at the moment so I've gone ahead and started using Nasus, he's abilities are easy to maintain and not very difficult. I'll probably head out today and buy a mouse!

 

Definitely get a mouse!

Nasus is a great melee starter champ; you just need to farm and he becomes a late game beast

 

I noticed that, you definitely need to farm minions in order to get a good build. At the start, he's pretty useless especially with just one Q ability. But with W to slow the champ, e for dealing damage and reduce their armour, R for ult and then Q for extra damage, it's quite easy to deal some damage to other champs and doesn't require much skill.
