Relative to the amount of people worldwide on prescription drugs 100,000 a year is nothing. Even if we assume your figures are correct - they probably aren't.

Also, just because you can't OD on weed does not mean there are no deaths that stem from its use.

Evidently someone believes the other side of propaganda - the hippies.

 

Deaths also stem from things like cheese, water drinking, playing on playgrounds. How is that any different? You can't just say "Don't do drugs because they are bad." Back your argument up with some sort of.. anything.

 

Surprised I even need to do this. It's self evident to IQ > 1.

Lets look at alcohol. Alcohol, like weed, makes people less incontrol of their emotions and actions. You can argue about the degree but this statement is a fact. Under this state of lesser control people are more likely to do things they would otherwise not. This is expected, they do not feel like they otherwise would. These things are frequently more dangerous. This is why on a night out, one will experience more fighting and accidents than at other times in the same areas. The occurrences are alcohol induced. Weed is the same in this respect.

Further, due to the widespread unlawfulness of producing and consuming marijuana there is even greater danger regarding the substance. The sorts of people willing to risk it's large scale production and distribution are not the people one would wish to dine with. These people will be more violent. Once you've broken the law once to produce your good why not break further laws to ensure you get your money.

I hope this is simple enough for you, it was sure as anything boring to write. It also adds little to the thread as its going to be tl;dr.


OT: I don't understand why someone would wish to smoke marijuana if they came from a good home with adequate income. I can understand it if your poor and therefore depressed with little else to do but 'get high'. If you have a nice home though, I don't get it.

 

It's worth trying at least once in my opinion. From what I've seen all these years - many smokers will simply tell you that it's the best thing they've ever done.
They'll tell you how it's bullshit propaganda that's tainting marijuana's image.

I am here to tell you that they are just 50% right. Marijuana is a great drug for some people. There are some people who do not react well and simply don't get a 'nice' high.

They are paranoid, anxious - just over thinking in general. There are other negative things that could happen if marijuana isn't 'right' for you but those 3 are the main one's in my opinion.

Now enough bad stuff... I personally smoke marijuana from time to time and I highly enjoy it. I use it to go to sleep when I have serious insomnia or when I lose my appetite and need a little boost.
Finally, there's the recreational use which I also find great. I find mundane things funny and life just 5x's more enjoyable.

To finally wrap things up - just know that marijuana can be a great drug if you know what is up. If you blindly go in thinking it's all rainbows - you could have a bad first experience. Have a good mentality - ideally have someone who's smoked before with you and HAVE FUN

 

So much wrong with this statement. Marijuana doesn't cause any violence to the user it does cause violence in respect of organised crime but there is an easy fix to that. It does not impare your judgement like alcohol, look at the science... Plenty of "rich" well off people abuse drugs and alcohol. That statement makes you look like an ignorant fuck.

Meanwhile, alcohol and other drugs are very much different to marijuana as they are addictive substances. No one chooses to be an alcoholic. People choose to smoke marijuana.

Well I smoke strong weed every day, I've dabbled in harder drugs and I can tell you I am not dependent on marijuana and I work 40+ hours a week it's nice for me to smoke after work and relax. Now 20 states + DC have marijuana laws on the books including 2 with "recreation" laws. I'm hoping my state makes it legal as far as medical goes.

I've also heard overseas marijuana is alot more expensive. My max is $300 an oz, while most are $200-250 per.

 

people who smoke weed that say weed doesn't harm you is because the weed has already fucked them up so bad they can't even notice

i smoked everyday for almost 2 years and whenever people questioned me i would say it didn't matter. after i got caught, i stopped completely and noticed that my memory was so fucked up and my attention span was that of a goldfish. i would forget what the teacher was teaching during class and couldn't remember what happened in the morning when it was night. its been 10 months and right now im still having memory problems but its getting better

if you want to do it try it twice, the first time you wont even notice but the second you'll know how it is then you can decide if you like it enough to screw yourself over

edit: well i guess i should have mentioned that you shouldn't do it like every day.. maybe thats why i got messed up. just dont over do it and you'll probably be better off

Well, if you start smoking at an early age, pre-adolescent or during adolescence, you won't notice any harm until you reach a matured age. What usually happens is, when your body has matured, you will notice that when you smoke, it actually plays with your head, you may or may not get paranoid and worry about things. Everybody reacts different to the high, I for one, used to be able to smoke copious amounts without any "side-effect" but now, when I smoke, I tend to get paranoid.. Maybe it's because I have some serious personal issues, I don't know. But if you're of age, and you want to give it a shot, there is no harm. It is nearly impossible to get addicted or rely on marijuana as opposed to heroin.

Till this day, I still smoke, but I can't smoke with people who I don't trust or get along with.

 

It's a nice 'drug' to do once in awhile but I wouldn't do it every day. Some people can do it every day and be completely fine but I'm different.

I get high off my mind from 2-3 hits and some people envy me for that but I kind of dislike being 'too high'. I sometimes smoke to mellow out on a free day. It definitely makes listening to music more of an 'experience' and when I have trouble sleeping - it's my go to 'aid'.

 

Have you tried it before?: Yes, I love marijuana. I dont smoke marjuana 24/7, I only smoke it when Im in a down mood or when im really sore. Pretty much I just smoke it ocassionly
