Thoughts on Prostitution?

I genuinely believe that if sex working was to be legalized it wouldn't increase sales. A lot of illegal activities are socially acceptable and rejected. Peoples dignity prevails over the law. I also believe like many have stated on the thread without consideration for the law is the fact they wouldn't do it because of their dignity.

My point being, legalizing such wouldn't really cause many negatives apart from the obvious loss to the pimps / gangs.

The pro's that I can see would mean that;

- Women are provided with better protection, health and rate of pay.
- They wouldn't be forced into it, unless they're financially forced which ultimately would be a problem caused by themselves.
- Trafficking would decrease.

I can't really see many negatives, if any. Apart from the obvious fact that the oldest profession it the world would no longer be illegal.

You wouldn't now see women stood on the streets asking if you want some fun, you'd find yourself in a multi-billion dollar empire of companies providing their customers with a great environment and clean/safe women to have sex with. For the women/men they employ, they'd be paying towards taxes, have better healthcare and probably find that what they're doing, they enjoy.

I cannot understand why it's not legalized.

PS: I wouldn't personally have sex with a prostitute, but for the benefits they'd receive as well as extra cash-flow into the economy. I agree completely.

The points you make are what it is illegally..

If it were to be made legal, you'd have companies starting up providing the ideal solution to the service..

If your opinion of having sex with a prostitute would be against it legally/illegally then where's your argument for the legality of the issue?

 

It depends on the circumstances

There could be some justifiable approaches on the entire situation.

Personally, i would never partake in such activities, however, if a way was found to ensure the health status of all prostitutes, i would say it can be acceptable.

Meaning, if there was some sort of set law and required "check-up" on all prostitues to ensure they were free of std's - being founded and funded by a legalized organizations, i would say it's ok.

 

I personally don't care but I don't plan on picking up a prostitute.

Although I know a girl who was an "escort" it was quite crazy to think all that stuff.

 

I lived the in the philippines for 3 years+ and in angeles city, there is legal prostitution. You pay and get the girl for the rest of the day pending time you paid and then overnight, time ends whenever before noon next day.

the more expensive and nicer established places in the middle of love street (or some weird sex-related name, been 2-3 years since I was there) required that the females get STD checked either daily, or once every 3 days, OR once a week pending on the establishment.

For being a 3rd world country The set-up , rules, ect ect it's actually not the worst, and I could imagine a country with 10x as much money/resources/and POSSIBLE laws that could be in place for such a monopoly, that It would work decently. Would also help keep girls off the street's and give them the opportunity to do it legally. Personally id support it.

To me I think it could be something used legally and regulated. If woman give consent to it and are doing it under their own choice, it should be allowed and should be taxed by the government. It's affects would include the amount of sexual crimes decrease dramatically and would provide money to the government. Prostitution has been around for thousands of years, it will not be stopped anytime soon. It still goes on even in the US capital of Washington D.C. and it can't be contained. This is why I think we should stop wasting money trying to stop it, and start gaining from it.

 

There are many countries that actually have it legalized and have gone for better roads cause of that. I am sorry but I might be wrong for recalling incorrectly but I think Australia has prostitution legalized.

I saw a documentary and it just detailed how it was a legit job. The 'brothels' were professional - had business licenses - provided medical for the girls/boys. I mean it was the basic paying for sex idea but because it was a legit job - it was safe for both the customers and the workers.

Most nations that have prostitution illegal have lots of problems with that fact. There's lots of crime surrounding it, drugs in general; also since it's illegal the LE has run-ins - causing arrests and ruining people's lives.

Long story short - it should be legalized.

 

It's a practice that's being happening since the beginning of civilization.

As long as it's safe, regulated, and kept private I see nothing wrong with it.

Hell, why not get the government in on it and help repair my street

 

I don't think its wrong, because if a girl wants to be a prostitute its because shes doing to for money or she just likes the fact of having sex with males.

 

Totally against the idea of prostitution shouldn't happen at all people just lol on vulnerable women and abuse them it's awful and should never happen

 

What? It was their choice to go in the direction they went in. People laugh out loud on vulnerable women? Da hell am I reading? There is nothing wrong in offering sexual services for money. Your body, your decision.

It's dumb that it's illegal. I'd legalized it if I was in charge. Might as well legalize it so they could try and make a little tax money off it.

If women and men (yes, men do it too) want to partake in prostitution/be a prostitute then so be it. As long as it's not backed by gangs and what not forcing vulnerable people in to it then what's the big deal?
