Rule: Customer Sniping?

It has been brought to my attention that a certain individual has been PMing customers who post on my threads about purchasing gold (offering them a cheaper rate). Now, I haven't seen anything relating to this in rules, which is quite appalling. Not only is it extremely rude, it's quite low.

I've noticed that Thread Hijacking is 1 infraction point, could Customer Sniping not be the same? Realistically they're the same thing, just done via the PM system rather than posted directly on the thread.

I'm sure no respectable gold sellers actually do this, but there clearly are a lot of scum on Sythe.

Shouldn't there be a level of gold selling etiquette per se?
Open for opinions and thoughts?

 

there was thread about it already and got denied, this will be most likely too. Users can pm whoever they want, threads arent private, we're free.

It's pretty disgraceful to stoop that low as to steal potential customers from other users on the site, but then again it's just competition, and in the real world, you snooze you lose.

 

Took the liberty to whip up an example;

> Customer posts on 'DivicaSales' 07gp selling thread
> Zuzel111 pm's said customer offering a lower rate
> (Confirmed by customer)

In this scenario Zuzel111 would receive the disciplinary action

 

I just asked him if he wants to buy GP, I didnt mention you, I could just see he's active in gold selling section.

 

Its honestly dog eat dog, and I know that there is no way to stop this from happening completely. You just have to accept it and decide if you want to be ethical or unethical.

Well I'd like to see you get punished for account sharing with your boyfriend then, that's serious offence, not that I pmed random person.

 

As long as he didn't mention Divica's name, I think there's nothing wrong with it.

 

This was recently brought up a couple months ago, and already denied. It's an open market and we're not going to prevent others from offering lower prices than someone else, regardless of the means of contact.

Look at it like this. You're shopping around for insurance quotes. You ask 3 companies. The 3rd one gives you the best price, but then the first one calls you back and says they can do better. You're not going to go with the 3rd just because they were the last person you talked with. You're going to find the cheapest/best price you can get.

It's business. It's not supposed to be a fucking picnic in the park with your competitors.
