Gazelle?

I'm trying to get some information about Gazelle before i sell my iPhone's to them.

I have a few broken iPhone's that still work perfectly, i'm trying to sell. Gazelle offers $50 per iPhone as long as they still function properly.

I've heard some rumors about them offering you a price then changing it once they receive the product. If anyone can confirm or deny this with additional information that would be amazing, thanks.

 

They offer you a base price based on your opinion on the item. Then when they receive it, the re-evaluate on a harsher scale and for the most part do not change the price as long as the original owner was honest about condition.
Just be as honest as possible with the questions and you should be fine.

I sold my iPhone 4S which I thought was in "Like New" condition and they stated it was in "good" due to a hairline scratch on the back.

I put "poor" quality and it still calculated $50.

If they're not going to pay me $50 for it then i'll keep it. I got the box to send it in the mail today, but if they're going to low-ball me, try to give me less than the amount they said there's no point in sending it as i can get $50+ as is (without me fixing the screens personally; $20).

 

Honestly I think you'd get better money for your phones selling them independently as opposed to a third party resale buyer. Craigslist/Kijiji/Ebay IMO.

 

I don't know anyone who would buy the phone as it is severally cracked and i would rather not replace both sides (even if it is $20).

 

Basically, they do what Ziggily says. They judge quite harshly and reserve the right to change their offer price, but if you reported the condition as poor you should be okay.

Side question, is there an option below poor?

 

Poor is the lowest quality you can choose.

I'm on my phone and don't have it availible but it was "excessive damage, deep abrasions".

edit: if you're not satisfied can you claim the item back, if so do they charge shipping fee's?

 

They're pretty quick and you might have a hard time getting it back if they do a runner.








Do you not have a warranty? I smashed my iPod screen back and just took it to the iStore for a new one.
If you've put poor, I don't see why they'd give you any less than you were quoted. I'm sure poor counts for more than just a bit cracked.

You can request your item back by contacting the customer service team: link and I'm pretty sure they pay postage.

 

No warranty, i have four iPhones that are all cracked and quite old.

Not by $100.00. It costs roughly $20-40 plus tax to get the screen fixed/replace it myself which only leaves me to profit $20-30 max.

 

If you've only broke the glass of the screens you can get a replacement front and back for around $15 total, as it's not hard to replace yourself. That's what it cost me for my 4s anyways.

 

What would i be able to charge in return for them?
