Man City got completely outplayed by probably a team that will end up being near the bottom of the table. Now, if I was the "typical Manchester United fan" that some people think I may be, I would troll the living hell out of Man City. However, I realize it's one game in the course of a long season, so I won't even troll them for losing against a completely inferior team.

    Here's what I think:

    1. Chelsea - Although they do have a very young team, bringing Eto'o in is what they need when it comes to having a good solid striker. They have a great midfield and back line, along with arguably the best keeper in the world, if not then easily one of them. Mourinho's heart is in Chelsea, and I feel as though the simple small signings brought in will help them grab the #1 spot this season.

    2. Man City - Many people say that they are going to win the league easily, but after the shocking defeat, I feel as though they have too many players from different countries and teams coming in at once, and it will take a while for them to blend and get the chemistry flowing again, with a new manager, and many high profile players coming in. However, they have probably the best line-up out of any team in the league, so they are a tough one to place.

    3. Arsenal - Disregarding the shocking defeat at the beginning of the season, I think they have enough quality in the team to grab this spot. They have many good young players, and when flowing together, perform amazingly. Keep in mind the shock 2-0 win at Bayern Munich's home turf last season. But the lack of signings could be a recipe for disaster for them, should some serious injury's come along later, which is bound to happen.

    4. Tottenham/Man United - I could see either one taking this spot. Tottenhams problem last season was a striker. And Soldado was their answer. An amazing striker which could easily bring 20+ goals for them this season. I put Man United here as well because I simply don't see them keeping their #1 spot this season, or even #2 for that matter. They did horrible in the pre-season, and although they have done well so far in this season, I think they will drift down to this spot. I think it will take Moyes some time to get the flow of the new job going.

The top 6 this season will be interesting. I honestly think anyone from Man United to Liverpool could win it. If Man United bring in Bale, the title is theirs.

Because the pre-season is such a good barometer for predicting season results...

Then what else should you go off of, besides the season itself as it goes on? These are predictions for the league, as in what we predict it to be, disregarding the season so far itself.

    2013-2014 Premier League

I'll state from the start that I'm a Tottenham fan, which might explain my optimism but here goes:

    1) Man Utd
    2) Chelsea (Very, very close second)
    3) Tottenham (A good 10-12 points off the top 2)
    4) Man City (Slightly behind Spurs, 2-4 points or so)

    5) Liverpool
    6) Arsenal

Before I get people flame me for putting Arsenal so far down the list because of the Woolwich/North London hate; look at every team around them (bar Utd). All the teams have strengthened, and they have done it a lot in comparison to recent years. Arsenal need a marquee signing like a Benzema or someone, however I can't see them bringing in such player with 3 days left.

I have put Utd just ahead of Chelsea as I think they will still sign a key midfielder, and apart from that the squad doesn't need too much tampering with as it's one fully functioning unit with lots of depth.

Mourinho will work some of his magic, however I think they will come just short this year, and will strengthen further next summer and 14/15 could be their year again.

I have put my beloved Spurs in at 3rd due to the quality of the structure that is being built. AVB didn't get a chance to pursue his 'Project' as Chelsea and I can start to see it taking shape at the Lane. Even with Bale going, the young promising players such as Lamela (I watch the Serie A and Bundesliga a lot so have admired the lad the past season anyways) have been put into the mould and I think the quality among the likes of Paulinho and Eriksen will give Spurs that real flare they have never had, on top of the addition of a 20 goal/season striker in Soldado. Even without Bale, I feel more confident. I will be the first to admit there could be issues of the team not gelling well due to having to many new faces, however I'll quote Gareth Crooks, "Spurs have sold Elvis, but bought the Beetles".

I have seen City's first 3 games and none of them have really impressed me. They do not seem the same side as the past couple of years, no deadliness or real scare for me anymore. Newcastle weren't in a strong position coming into the game, with the Cabaye speculation and the struggles of bringing in a couple of marquee signings, but the defensive flaws in the absence of Kompany I think will be a massive problem until he returns, as shown on multiple occasions against Palace and again against Hull today.

Finally, I think Liverpool will squeeze into 5th. Even without Suarez Liverpool look dangerous. Keep Sturridge fit and the goal will keep coming as his confidence continues to rise.

These are only my personal opinions remember. I can only predict and chance are I'll be wrong, but I'm still dead excited for this season as the top 6 places are all up for grabs and it could go anyway. Now fingers crossed for a qin at the Emirates tomorrow or maybe if it's a 5-2 again I may need to edit some of my post ;)

Wouldn't matter if you used the actual season as A: It's still pretty early and B: The Predictions are for fun and C: The season is a lot better of an indicator than pointless pre-season games where teams are at half strength and don't try to win.

Stupid basing it off of the pre-season when half the team doesn't even dress and it's more used to see who gets playing time and who has to pack their bags.

Now that kind of a game from United and I'll believe they'll finish 4th or worse in the league. It's becoming clear if teams key on RVP nobody else can score. Welbeck & Evra & Nani are clueless. Especially Welbeck, good game against Swansea but against higher quality opponents this kid can never finish.

Terrible, shit tactics today from Moyes. No rooney today is still no excuse, I don't know why Zaha is not playing at all when he single-handily led Crystal Palace to the Premier League. Yes, this is a whole other level of play...but I think Zaha will end up being better than Welbeck or Nani. That's 2 games in a row 0 goals for Manchester United...that is alarmingly bad.

If Man U loses to Man City in the coming weeks, won't be surprised if Moyes is already getting crucified by the much more hardcore fans than myself (I care a lot but I'm not psychotic, though I'm disappointed in Moyes today, I thought his tactics put us at a disadvantage). It's unusual for a team to be able to go into a defensive shell for an entire half and not give up a goal....but credit to Liverpool to surviving it. I don't even feel like Man U had that many pristine chances...too many backwards passes and sloppy turnovers.

Manchester United's failure to secure any help will likely be the cog in their 3rd or 4th place finish this year. It's still way early, and Liverpool is a decent team..but without Suarez / only worrying about Sturridge/Gerrard anything less than a draw is unacceptable.

I'm an Americunt. But I've at least been to Old Trafford. I became a United fan in 2004 when they played at Lincoln Financial Field and I had no idea they had such a rich history. The fact I've stuck with them though during this tumultuous period (by their standards) should help reaffirm that I'm not a glory hunter.

Also I don't think David Moyes ever got a proper shot. I'm not saying he's a genius but the team refused to spend when he was the manager. LVG and Mou got much bigger bankrolls and squandered innumerable amounts of money on complete spastics or overrated players like Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao, Memphis Depay, and now Paul Pogba. Next overrated/overhyped player they'll overpay is Antoine Griezmann.

They should really go back to developing talent or spending less on lesser known quantities with potential. Only Zlatan and Robin Van Persie have really ever lived up to the hype of their gaudy signings.

Rashford + Martial >>> Falcao Di Maria Depay

And although he gets nowhere near the hype, for a fraction of the price Juan Mata has contributed far more than Pogba.

Unless we're talking about how many bad haircuts someone can get, then Pogba wins.

Why do you think I watch the Premier League? Where did I ever say I watch the MLS? Take your L son. I prefer European sports like Soccer and Tennis

Nobody can debate that all of those players I listed were overpaid. Besides, the Premier League players retire to the MLS just to collect their checks anyway. It's no different, just a worse quality of play.

Dude MLS is the shittest league ever.

You're just a full time glory hunter. Maybe start by appreciating smaller teams further down the ladder.

    Do I smell...Liverpool fan?

I mean you say "brah" in half your posts. Definitely a mental deficiency that can be easily explained by Liverpool fandom.

Never said the MLS was good either spastic.

Edit: And don't get rustled muderators that still sparsely use this website, I am bantering.
