Osrs future?

Thinking of going back to osrs, I don't want to be wasting my time though, do you guys think it will stay online for a couple years?

Yes, it will stay online because new updates are going into the game. I think GWD would be in the game soon also..

 

I hope it stays online, surely they can't just switch it off after everyone has paid membership & spent a lot of time playing it.

I would play OSRS but I don't like the idea of starting again, so I haven't really played. I think it'll only last a few years in all fairness, there are a lot more people playing RS3 currently then I expected. But the GWD hype will give it some publicity and increase the player count.

It will not die out. It will continue to receive support from Jagex. It'll last as long as the main game will to be honest. The community decides where the game goes from here on out which makes it extremely unique and will allow the community to thrive.

 

There really is no eta as of yet for gwd but rumors specate within the month

 

^^^ this. Osrs makes up 1/3 of the total rs playerbase, the only time it will go away is when EoC goes as well.

 

Now looking forward to gwd coming in!

Nobody can answer this question, it's like asking how longs a piece of string? Te player base is strong, the feedback is good.. It'll be here for a while.

Whilst Jagex pump money into Old School and continue with the content poles I believe these servers will prosper. The minute Jagex lose interest in Old School is the minute the players will.

 

does any1 know which of the rs get the most players eoc or 07

 

Eoc has a bigger player base I think.
