Legacy Donor Ranks

Everyone loves legacy donor ranks. They look better than the current ones in most peoples opinions. The novelty thing about them also is that not a lot of people have them. Now with even more of the old users that have donated prior to the rank change in 2010? are inactive and I never see these legacy ranks anymore.

I propose we change the qualification for legacy donor ranks to one of the following:
- You are eligible for them if you have been a member for 2 years
- You are eligible for them if it has been 2 years since you have donated

Both of these would increase the amount of legacy ranks available without making the novelty of it wear away as only so many people would be able to use them (majority of the old fags that donated are $300 or more anyways so can have a custom rank)

What do you guys think?

disclaimer: yes i made this suggestion partly because I want legacy ranks but I don't think I'm eligible for them yet if the second option gets decided on

Would it be you are eligible for $5 donor 2 years after u have donated and then you have to wait until it has been 2 years since you donated $25? Or Just two years since your first donation. Either way, support.

 

May as well go with the latter like it is currently otherwise it would be way too complicated.

I agree, just wanted to clarify. Voted for option #2. No harm is being done by giving users legacy ranks after 2 years. Cast your support votes now!

I say we only bring back the legacy $100 rank. :nuts:. I'd love that $50 rank though mmm... someone donate for me in a time machine.
Edit: I think three years would be better, but I'm still iffy about this idea. It'd decrease the value of the few oldfags....

I'm all for option 2, would be great to see some of the legacy ranks more frequently. I personally like the $5 rank the best

 

I voted for option 2 think it would be a great idea as there are less people from when they were changed but maybe 3 years since you donated?

Fairly sure the rank change was in 2010 so having it set to 3 years would be the same as what it is now.

Imo 2 years is too short as there are a lot of members from 2 years ago still. I know 3 years is when the ranks were changed but if it was similar to the upper spam forum with the entry requirement of 3 years of being a member you get let in.

 

The Upper Spam forum is 3 years or 2500 posts so they have extra members that way instead of it being solely a ghost town.

Option 1 would mean they'd be too common in my opinion.

 

3 years after your first donation would be more suitable, as not too many more people would receive them. That means at the moment it would be donors before august 2010. Before anyone claims "it's because you donated more than 3 years ago", no I didn't. It'd be a better control.

 

As much as i like the old ranks, i really cant see the point of any of this, we would probs be better off just making a new selection of donation ranks instead.

 

This would also be neat... a couple of different donor ranks to choose from. I mean, why not! =p. Add some variety for all the people below $300
