I've never heard of anyone actually using those features and it seems like they are proprietary and only work if they are supported by Apple (airdrop only works with certain Apple products). Android is an open source OS while Apple is extremely closed sourced. They don't even use a standard connector for your computer and basically everything you need is extremely expensive through Apple and not made to last (their cords are awful and designed to break). Also pretty much all of Apple's products force you to do it their way. You can't extend it or use it in any way other than the way they want you to. That's exactly why my mom hates Apple products because she doesn't want to do it their way. I'd much rather use open tools and use them to do something my way than be forced into doing something Apple's way, even if it works and is well supported. If it doesn't do exactly what I want, I don't want to use it.

I do admit their cords are flimsy. Every iPhone I've ever had has gone through at least two cables because it shorts out.

Everyone uses airplay (not so much airdrop). It makes everything so much easier, streaming, etc.

I don't exactly understand what you mean by "tools" that you're unhappy with and are not able to be used. If by tools you mean programming/developing, you are right. The s4 is better for those sorts of things but not everyone is capable enough to do them.

Just pretty much all their features that do useful things. They are made to do it exactly as Apple wants you to and won't allow for anything else, pretty much.

All of the features that they offer do exactly what the users desire it to do.

Maps, Facebook, YouTube, Google/Gmail, Skype, email and text messaging are likely the most used apps on any smart phone. What more are they expected to do compared to exactly what the name of the app is?
