Computer issue

My moms laptop keeps popping up with an error every time we reset it. It keeps saying imageui.exe error or something like that and wont load windows, it just stays on the error page. We know nothing about computers but I'm good at following guides, does anyone have any advice to fix this without completely resetting the computer? I have all my runescape recovery information on that laptop and important files that I don't want to lose.

It's an HP Pavilion laptop with windows 7. Nothing special because it's my moms laptop.

 

Are you able to load the computer in safe mode fine? You could do that to transfer all the files you want to an external hard drive and then factory reset it.

Have you tried loading it in safe mode, or loading it in another mode that it offers in the setup window? If so, and it still didn't work take it to your local PC shop and get them to save everything off your hard-drive before you factory restore it.
