    Hello,

I apologize in advance if I posted in the wrong section. If a mod/admin has a better place for this, by all means move it :D

A friend and I have been exploring a few ideas. We've decided we want to buy/use a forum hosting service and create a forum. We have not decided what the basis will be, but we are most likely going to make it a joint-game forum, involving a few different games that we will post about like minecraft, mechmice, etc. We also plan to possibly do a small youtube account, posting videos playing games etc. Another idea would be to start up a minecraft server of our own and building it up.

In other terms, we are also looking for upcoming computer games that are quality mmorpg or economy based that we can play/invest in. If you know any fresh games that are on the rise, let me know :D

If anyone has any advice about starting up a website, youtube, forums, or minecraft server in the hopes of becoming successful (making a little bit of $) while having fun, please drop a few replies or add me on skype. We have the money, which would be used for buying the domain, forums, paying someone to build us a design/graphics and so on. Anything helps. Thanks

www.theadminzone.com you will learn a load of stuff from here. Some advice stick with the niche chosen whatever it might be and concentrate more so on content to build SEO once a basic layout is made and the forum is up stick to it do not make many changed because you will hurt the sites SEO so its best to plan everything out before you make the site.

Tbh, if you need advice you're probably not ready for your own forum. 95% of new forums probably die off, you'll need either a lot of capital or something to offer e.g. bots, a client, a useful database - so people will join.

As for asking for advice, you may be right about not being ready, but where else does one start? As for offering something, I completely understand what you mean.

We will not be involving anything runescape at all. The forum would be dedicated to a few upcoming games as well as a few already-popular games that don't have many forums involved with it. For instance, minecraft is on our list, as the main forum involved with minecraft would be Planetminecraft.com. They have no competition whatsoever, other than sites offering skins/texture packs. One of the upcoming games we might feature would be "Mech Mice", a strategy game being developed by the same crew that made "Clubpenguin".

The forums would be more of a hobby to work on more than solely a money maker. I'm trying to think of a service we could offer that would make us unique, like you said Roary, and that would draw traffic.
