Need a new graphics card? HELP PLEASE

    hey, I recently started using my PC again, but every so often everything will freeze for ~3 seconds, the screen will go black then it will come back on with this message;

I have tried updating the drivers but it says I have the most up-to-date ones.

My computer is a Packard Bell ixtreme I6523 - No modifications except I maybe added more RAM a few years ago, cant really remember.

Could someone please help me either fix this issue or find a new compatible graphics card if that's whats needed? :)

    Thanks!

To start, completely uninstall the drivers, then reinstall them. Your card isn't the issue, I can almost guarantee.

When you updated the drivers, did you use the ones from the manufacturer of your PC or video card? I get that error on my laptop when I use the ones from Nvidia as opposed to the ones from Asus because the ones from Asus are tailored to my laptop. You'll need to go on the Packard Bell official site, find your computer, and find the list of drivers/software available. Then completely remove your old drivers (which should turn off your screen so you won't be able to see anything until you reboot). Upon reboot, Windows will load a default display driver. Then, just install the driver you got from the official site and you should be good to go.

If I uninstall them will my computer find the correct driver to reinstall automatically, or will I have to download it and install it manually?

Ok I did that, just need to wait to see if it happens again I guess. I'll update in a few hours :p

Also I switched the VGA cable I was using for the monitor, since I'm pretty sure I paid £1 for the one I was using ;) looks clearer now.

Delete the old graphics card drivers. Reboot and you should have shit resolution. Then reinstall (with what you downloaded) and restart again. You can also take the graphics card out and put it back in (reseating it). Also make sure that it isn't overheating or what not and clean out the dust.

My old graphics cards do this now and then. As long as you do the above stuff and it isn't happening a lot then you can just ignore it.

Canned air will do the best job. Or a compressor.

Well when upgrading the driver, you have to make sure that after you uninstall the old driver and restart that you keep Windows from automatically installing the wrong driver so that you may install your own.

Here is a list of possible reasons that we need to check before giving this poor guy with the same old advice of changing his drivers.
    1. Monitor
    2.Graphic Card
    3. Power Supply or Power Cable
    4. Software (OS, Monitor Driver)
    5. Motherboard

First try a different monitor, if the same thing happens, then your monitor is out of Question
Try reinstalling your system and reinstalling your driver using the latest OFFICIAL driver. Also search up your hardware to see if anyone else is having your problem with the driver that you are using. If this still doesn't solve the problem. Then is either your power supply, motherboard or graphics card.

In the end you will have to test deduce which of the 3 hardware is faulty yourself. Is unlikely you will need these advice, but I'll give you it in case anyways.

From your description it sound most like driver failure, power shortage, or card failure. I can't be sure since I am inexperienced with AMD errors reports while being a hardcore Nividia user :p
