Firecape Worth Getting 43 Prayer on 1 Def Pure?

I'm debating on getting 43 prayer from 31 prayer on my 1 def str pure in order to get firecape.
I probably just need 40 to get it but 40 to 43 really doesn't make any difference on my CB level plus protect from melee would be nice to have since I get rushed by 5 different people every time I try to get my loot.
It would get me 2 CB levels.
Here are my stats
68 CB
60 attack
83 strength
74 HP
70 range
55 mage
31 prayer

I know for a fact I can get it done with these stats I just don't know if I should.
From what I can tell the only real benefit is the slight defense boost which doesn't help at ALL since I'm 1 def and the strength boost which is only +4. Not much at ALL.
But sometimes when I fight 1 def pures with them they rambo the crap outta me so who knows. I'm leaning towards no because I think the str levels help more.
Try to convince me otherwise because I kinda want to go for it but right now it makes no sense.

I'll probably try it out if I ever convince myself to turn into an initiate pure but that's for another thread.
PS. I already have a zerker.

 

Im not sure but, protect prayer would be very usefull reducing rusher by alot. 1def pures gets killed very easy(atleast if low hp) but ue choise

 

I agree but I'm willing to pk without it as I already do.
I only want prayer if it really is worth it.

Go for it. The +5% more you get from prayers is worth it anyway regardless of the protect prayers.

Getting protect prayers would be a positive thing that would be helpful if I did get the prayers but getting them doesn't affect my decision as I PK without them right now without problems. Just would be nice to be able to protect from melee after a PK instead of being wary of rushers all the time. I also don't get 5% more of anything.

Firecape gives me a small defense bonus which doesn't help at all considering I'm a 1 def pure. An iron helm gives me a better defense bonus to put that into perspective.
It also gives me a small small prayer boost which really doesn't matter as I fight in monk robes,
The only thing that I think may help is the strength bonus but it's also small. I get a +4 str bonus from the cape, to put into perspective a str ammy has +10 str bonus and a glory has a +6 str bonus.

I could get 4-6 str levels with those two CB levels I would gain and a few hp levels.

I think I just talked my way out of it but I'm not sure -.-

 

Ok, so if you're going to be one of those kids who's scared to lose their firecape, and leave it banked when you PK, don't bother. But if you're going to take advantage of the bonuses it gives, go for it. Protect prayers always help post fight, as you can defer rushers away.

And anyway, you're not going to be 1 def forever, I presume, as eventually you will get bored of it, so then when you upgrade you'll most likely want 52.

Personally I favour 44. But if it's an option between 43 or not, I'd say go for it. The advantages aren't limited to just firecapes, protect prayers are always useful somehow.

 

i think its more cosmetic but 44 doesnt harm you very much
