Dicing - should it be banned, or allowed?

Try using a different theme that doesn't support dicing.

 

Self control, set a limit for what you are willing to lose and never go over it.

Because it's confined to one post in the donor's lounge and one subsection of the sandbox, I think it's perfect the way it is and should not be banned/changed/"fixed," etc.

I've both won and lost money dicing, and it's been great fun and a reason to be more active. It also promotes friendly competition and communication between trustworthy members. As long as the dicers have self-control, there isn't really much of a downside to dicing (in my opinion).

 

And why not?

How many times is this going to be reiterated: If you don't trust the person, simply DON'T DICE WITH THEM. That or use a middleman. Nobody is forcing you to dice. If youre addicted to gambling, request a SRB or a ban from the SB or DL like Dialatic did.

I completely do not support this dicing sht if it comes to gambling. There'll be tons of people buying high donor ranks to just to scam

 

Thats why you use wise judgement who you deal with, just like you do anywhere else on this forum.

 

People will always scamm any way they can.

 

My only concern with dicing is if vouching is allowed for dicing, like it is for gambling e.g. via betting services. This would be another exploit similar to the infamous graphics vouches so as long as "recommendations" were to be given like for graphics instead of vouches, I would be fine with that.

Scamming while dicing is just stupid. We have the proof right on the forums that you scammed so you'll almost always get banned right away.

 

I don't see it being any more open to exploitation than the gold section already is. Someone can easily do 1-5m trades in the EoC section to quickly build up vouch count. You're trusting someone with money, therefore its vouch worthy in my opinion.

 

It should be allowed clearly if someone doesn't like dicing just don't even go to the section and dice its something where people enjoy and have fun dicing other Sythe members for the fun of it so I don't support it being banned.

Keep it. Gets the scumbags banned before they can actually steal something. Coming from a non-gambler of course, I say whats the harm in weeding out the scammers before they actually scam? But of course you hardcore dicers consider it stealing, even if it's only luck.

Could be a great reason to ban gambling.

 

Dicing should be banned because it's bringing up a generation of gamblers and addicts. When you gamble this much as a kid, it skyrockets your chances at developing that kind of habit at a later age, and we all know what kind of lifestyle gambling brings with it.


If anything, ban dicing and replace it with Texas Hold Em' and Omaha, at least that way you're not just blindlessly throwing money in hopes you'll x2 or x3 it. That's what Casino's are for, and that's why Casino's don't let kids gamble there.

 

Ah, right. Neither of those are gambling.

 

I'm saying if you're going to allow gambling on here at least make it somewhat interesting, with dice you're not using any skill. At least with Texas Hold Em' you need skill and practice, with dice you can lose $1000's in 10 minutes and not get anything out of it.
