so to get your riot points, you sign up for a DEBIT, not a credit a DEBIT card which you can load money to and spend like a normal card, but you can't exceed your normal balance. There's no credit check, no fees (shouldn't be any fees), and you get your own debit card with an LoL character on it (you get to choose).

1k - get the card
10k - once you get the card in the mail, activate it and put $20 on it via deposit
1k - put money on the card

and you can get 100 points per every purchase for up to 10 purchases
which totals out to about 13k points. You also earn points for using the card to shop, I think it was about 1 rp for every $3 or so.

It's free because with that $20 you can do whatever you want, go out to eat, spend it on more rp, do whatever.

It's only for US residents with AmEx. Canada is whining on the website because although they have AmEx, the offer isn't valid for them, right now no other countries have this promotion.
