[Community Input] What would you like to see on Sythe?

In what capacity would you like to see the "open mic"? Would you like to hear from Staff, Random Members or CDT? Just trying to clarify what you are asking for. It would be fun to make some kind of Sythe Pod Cast but I don't know how much interest that would draw.

 

Maybe you should see whether or not members of te community would be interested? I for one, would definitely be! You could have a thread, in which one member within the CDT would create, where they could be bombarded with questions regarding their status within the community, what there personal motivation is, their role within the CDT, why they joined, a bit of information about themselves and so fourth. It's just a rough idea, maybe the CDT could create something better from the idea?

 

Hmm. I like the idea. If I have time today, I could mock up something like you suggested. So in a nutshell, you want something similar to meet the staff? We could either do individual threads or as a group. I will let the others come to a decision about this.

 

Are there any random League of Legends events for users under level 30 or above level 30. Something like Sythe LoL championship or something.

 

We have discussed this, but with the different servers and time zones, it would be almost impossible to get everyone on the same page. Unless we split it into a NA and EU championship. I personally do not play LoL so generally Lvl 75 def and Add my Msn handle these types of competitions.

 

I was thinking of organizing a 1vs1 LoL tournament on the ARAM map with blind pick, first to kill turret/first blood/first to 100 minions wins but since it's split in regions, I don't think we would get enough players for each region.

 

Anyone else have anything they want to see potentially added to Sythe?

1) Delta's Community gaming night page being revisited
2) Asap's Open mic night. I'd be involved in the questions

Ziggily and MSN already know what I'd like to see more of, having made my own attempt at getting people on board. I'd like to see an active steam community with it's own group. I know we've got an official group, but it seems to have lost activity. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd love to game with other sythe users.

 

I'd like to hear from all of the above, a livestreamed event would be cool but if we could get a frequent podcast going that'd be even better imo =p

edit: Try to get any staff interested, then CDT members, then random community members in that order.

 

I love all of the tournaments that are hosted, I'd love to see more of them

 

Once I get another computer, I will attempt to get something going with the steam idea. For now, I am stuck with planning behind my phones keyboard.

As far as the podcast, what content would you like to see?

The tournaments may be an every other month event since it takes a while for the competition to end due to time zones. If we can get consistent donations for the competitions, then we may start daily challenges that would award prizes everyday.

All of the above is tentative at this point.

 

Well it just depends on how much player actually want to wait for a game im sure if we got 15-20 player to play in a tournament I myself would not mind waiting for opponents to come online. I mean it is time consuming but it would be very fun or it could be a team thing. Users get there teams together and play as 5v5 or 3v3 all of the users to not have to be sythe users but maybe just the team captain or something has to be a user idk just thought in my head.

 

I would be willing to help fund these competitions.

 

It may be wise to do teams based on region/time zone. Or we could just throw spontaneous competitions during our busier periods of the day. Just some things to mull over and maybe one of our other cdt members could organize some events since i can't really participate at this time.

 

When should you be back on your computer Ziggily? If you need someone to help host anything, I'd be happy to volunteer. Starting to sound like a broken record, but I've been personally trying to get the steam section of sythe back on track. Well the discussion/participation side of sythe, the market is doing just fine.

Hopefully we can get plenty of people on board for the future events I also wouldn't mind participating in any podcast/open mic night features. I wouldn't mind entertaining people for an hour or so

Its just not in the budget right now sadly. Since I got married, seems like everything in our house has been cursed. Down a computer, microwave and a tv.

As far as hosting goes, we will see. The cdt has a lot of great plans being discussed atm. We just don't want to push them out all at the same time. I will keep you in mind though should the need come up.

 

For literally $300 you could have a media computer that can stream movies, have general internet browsing etc

Made these up a while ago, they're not perfect and you could go without a cd drive probably. Also doubt the $180 one needs a cpu cooler, could take that out and the cd drive and get a little better apu instead. =p

fix the official steam group cus its deader then the unofficial one.

i mena whats the point of having a official one if they don't do anything to help make it active.
