[Community Input] What would you like to see on Sythe?

last time i spoke to sythe about it he says matthew is still working on a FB style chatting system.

 

96 people applied so far, only 56 took it so far.

 

Well if it already exists then we need something to get the word out. Maybe a sticky and an announcement would bring it to peoples attention.

Since its a third party client is there anything else we can do with it such as uploading chatlogs to the sythe server? If that is impossible I think we should at least have something like the kingdom chat (just a web based chat) that could upload chat logs. Once more people gained interest in it extra cool stuff could be added.

edit: Also can I get confirmation that chats that take place on the xmpp server will be treated as valid proof in the same way a skype or msn conversation would be? (Also I know its generally a good idea to get a PM just to be sure, but since this is based on your sythe login would you be able to post a report without a confirmation PM since the chat is kind of a PM in itself?)

Oh, and expanding on the open mic idea a staff or cdt livestream Q&A would be pretty cool. I'm sure if you got 3-4 staff members or 3-4 CDT members and posted an announcement far enough ahead of time it'd be an interesting event!

You can chat directly 1 on 1 with any user logged into the chat, or connect to a group chat (be it kingdoms, or any user-made channel)

 

Could the chat be used for trades? evidence wise?

First off, stop relating everything to RS. Half of the Sythe community isn't into Runescape.

I'd like to see more Staff -- Member communication.
More competitions (Pool, Chess, Checkers, etc.)

 

Amen to that, that's what I mentioned in the first post! Glad some people are on the same page.

 

If you haven't noticed more then 99% of the competitions/events are NON runescape related.. I don't know how you're even complaining about that.

The Runescape section is dead honestly and that's why I want to make it more active, but if you look at the current/old events non are runescape related and it would be fun for the people who enjoy Runescape to have a Runescape themed competition.

 

Personally, I think the Runescape section within Sythe is thriving at the moment. There always seems to be a discussion going within the general threads, the market is booming and much more.. so I don't see how it needs reviving -.- , the community as a whole does, so I can see where you're coming from.

what I was agreeing to above, was more so community related events, rather than Runescape.

 

The general section of it is dead? I don't know what you're seeing but that section is not active at all compared to things like LoL and SF.

The market will always be active because it's a money making/scamming section, so I don't see how events are compared to the market.

 

Well I guess if you're goin to compare it to the spam forum, of course it's dead.. considering you can't spam. I wasn't comparing the market to community events, you yourself ,said that Runescape was dead within Sythe, and I'm saying it's not. The market is Runescape related, maybe your post wasn't specific as to what you actually meant.

I hate to be the one to be the bearer of the bad news, but making a Runescape event isn't really going to "revive" the "dead" runescape section as you propose. It's going to take a lot more than that, but hey you've got to start somewhere.

 

Almost all the suggestions made here are Runescape related, and 80% of Sythes trading activity is in Rs Markets as is.

 

I don't see how the events we do are not enough. Those take time setting up, and recently we even started working harder with the new members, and we have 2 events running right now, the Sythe Pool Tourney and the Quiz. We can't have 10 events running at a time.

 

Who is this in response to? The best and most well thought out event to date, would be yours, Art. It involved so many participants from the community, it allowed people to do some research within the website and get to know more about Sythe's history and current position.

Events that can involve everyone and not limited members (Eg Runescape only events) should be put forward to the table. That's not to say Runescape events shouldn't be held, just less prioritised.

Anyone can participate on the events we do (Pool, Checkers etc.). I agree that runescape would have a lower interest as not everyone on Sythe plays or has a good enough account to participate.

Also, it seems your events take awhile and aren't organized correctly. I'm sure it's hard, but this takes much too long in time. Glad you can understand the Runescape part.

 

How do you think we could improve the events? Please leave some feedback on them, as we listen to your opinions. That's what we are here for after all, to improve the community.

 

I've done 3/4 of those recently, can only do one at a time

This is why I believe the "open-mic" toe of thing would be good, it would allow for the community to better determine personal skills, attributes and motivations/aspirations of each individual team member.
