Tragic Event

Well a lot of you know i am a Sikh. And on Augest 5,2012 as many of you probably know a sikh gurdwara which is our temple became a target for some white supremacists. Which resulted in many deaths including a police officer. They shot our holy place and ruined so many lives in oak creek Wisconsin.

Here is a video that was just created about the community's response and talking with the people who were actually there during the event. Its honestly heartbreaking. People confuse Sikh's with terrorists because we wear "turbans" but did you know that over 90% of turban wearer's in america are actually sikh and not people from the middle east. The deaths were so tragic the top of the temple in the building actually ran at the shooter to stop him from shooting children and others which resulted in his death as well. I have no idea why the temple was shot the sikh temple is not just a place of worship its like a community building if your any race, any religion you can come into our building get food to eat a place to stay. We take care of everyone in our temple so its honestly heartbreaking to know this happened.

R.i.p to all the sikh's killed and the brave police officer who gave his life.

What was the reason for the attack? Or was it just because you're Sikh's? In England it would be rare for an attack like that out of the blue. Unless it was the 'terrorists' commiting the crime. They attack unprovoked a fair bit.

 

Crispy, this is America though. We seriously have some of the most ignorant and uneducated people running amuck in the States. I'm not surprised some people were stupid enough to do something like this. Now, why they wouldn't do their research before risking life in prison or death penalty is pretty stupid. Nevertheless they were supremacists so they were two fries short of a happy meal already. I can honestly say I never saw this on the news. Shame that the news is being clogged up with useless crap. My condolences go out to all those affected by this tragedy.

I know a few Sikh's, and they're the nicest people I've ever met.. This is terrible.

yeah exactly all you have to do is cover your head when your inside they have bandanas that you can wear while inside at the entrance in large crates for people. If you're white blue eyes w/e doesn't matter go inside you can pray, get some food to eat.

pizcheck you are an idiot what does 9/11 attacks have to do with it? SIkh's and muslims are completely different and as to the person that said its rude for me to say im not from the middle east. How is that bad? the reason these supremacist idiots attacked us in the first place was because they thought we were from the middle east. Our whole culture and religion is about peace we want equality for women men everyone. IF you walked into our temple at first yeah maybe some people would look at you because hey not everyday like a random white guy walks in but they would treat you the same as anyone else, you don't get the food yourself all you have to do is sit down and they will come to you with food, water, whatever you need.

 

Sikhs are against muslims and terrorists , i think its terrible what them people did because sikhs are a religion of peace and are really nice people , tragic RIP , im a athiest from england
