    Suggestions anyone?

So to put it kindly i'm a League of legends noob, I started playing about a week ago and i've now reached level 9. However In that time i've cycled about 10 different champions and still not found one I really like to play.
I'm like to play as fighters or tanks, and I'm trying to find a champ who's good to play, but not so popular that i never get a chance to pick them in game.
The champs i've played the most of so far are:

    -Darius
    -Zed
    -Singed

I'd really appreciate any suggestions, as i'm a bit stuck as to who i should play! I'd like to find a champ i like playing enough to carry me through to Level 20/25.
Also, I don't want to play someone like Garen, I'd prefer to play someone who takes some skill but takes a while to learn, Thanks!

Zed is a great champion, but getting used to his mechanics can be a bit tricky.
I don't like Darius at all & Singed.. It can be a hit or miss.
I'd definatly spend some time learning Zed though as it is relatively easy to carry games with him, but like I said learning his mechanics properly can be a bit difficult.

Thanks for the response, I do like Zed the most out of those, however as you said it's tricky to learn, i also find unless he is fully set up and all his abilities are ready he is useless. I tend to try and use him top lane, is this a good idea? Also I always try to build Botrk first, Is there a better thing to do? I often find myself playing a game and managing to keep my deaths low, but often only get 1 or 2 kills in a game, while others are getting 6-7+ Any advice?

Hmm, as for builds I wouldn't always say rush a specific item. Look at your matchup & then decide from there.
against a heavy ap? Build Hexdrinker.
Against a tank? Build Last whisper.

Zed has a great poke with his Q which has quite a low cd, & the fact you have energy means good sustain. Top lane Zed is fine. I'd also learn smartcast with zed because his W>E>Q poke can be very strong. Let me know if you need anything else.

Where do you play Zed? Mid or top?
Also you say you like Zed the most but that being said makes it harder to recommend champions since Zed is nothing like singed, Singed is a late game tank that doesn't care as he walks through there team tanking them, whereas Zed is a solid assassin.
Botrk rush is actually pretty solid on Zed, unless you're against something like a Fizz (still not sure if you play him mid or top) then you should rush hexdrinker because he has so much damage. Tbh, what you build on almost all champions on LoL are situational, that being said botrk first item is normally pretty good for Zed.

Edit: Seems you play Zed top, honestly i wouldn't recommend it since he can't assassinate most of the bruisers that go top at level 6, so most of the time you'll find yourself having to farm until the team fighting stage comes and you can try to assassinate a squishy. I'd say play him mid, the matchups are more in your favor and it should sort out your problem of getting little kills since mid is more active in team fights due to action at dragon and stuff, and you can also roam to top and bot if you see a good opportunity.

i agree with singed being a tank (middle to late game) and zed as a hitter.

    Gurtaton Grand Master

    Suggestions anyone?

Honestly, I wouldn't suggest playing manaless champions right off the bat. This will lead to bad habits which can be hard to get rid off (e.g spamming spells on mana hungry champions).

Another thing is last hitting. Champions like Zed and Singed (after you get tear, depends on match-up) have an extremely easy time last hitting. So if you play a champion who's easy to last hit with, then it'll be harder to transition, to say, Anivia or someone else with horrendous AA animation and damage.

That being said, I recommend that you try the following champions:

    1) Twisted Fate - Only thing that's mechanically difficult is the Pick a Card spell. Other than that, he's relatively easy. You just have to position properly and use your ultimate at the right time. One high level trick includes ulting + using Zhonya's to bait team fights (A player named Misaya did it once).

    2) Dr. Mundo - You will not learn mana management. You will learn health management, and that can actually help you with your mana saving skills as well as with trading/poking. Of course, once you hit 6 you won't give many fucks. Hitting them cleavers is ever so satisfying.

    3) Ashe - Her kit looks simple and doesn't seem like something you can make plays with, but damn, that ultimate can be totally game changing. She's also the kiting queen.

    4) Lux - If you like to manually aim everything, you might like Lux. Good utility and heavy burst damage. Quite mana hungry before you get your chalice.

    5) Draven - Draven literally forces you to learn how to attack-move properly or else you'll suck dick with him. Overall a very fun champion, who is quite underrated after his nerfs. But IMO, still a solid laner.

    6) Diana - Good fighter with low barrier of entry but high skill cap. There are some interesting things that you can do with her ultimate.

    7) Shyvana - She's really strong after her recent buffs. Great duelist. Only bad thing is no CC.

    8) Cho'Gath - Tanky AP character with soft sustain from his passive. Use your ultimate to build up stacks, and you will be one deadly motherfucker. Requires good prediction to hit Qs.

    9) Kayle - Really on viable as a glass cannon (either AP or AD, I like AP better). Her kiting is good and her ultimate remains useful even if she falls behind. She can become permanently ranged once she has a certain amount of CDR.

    10) Irelia - An off-tank or anti-carry, depending on how you build her. Good sustain in lane and an excellent duelist too. You can either build glass cannon or tanky with her, because of her passive true damage. Quite flexible and can make plays.

I totally agree with Gurtaton, he's advising you really wisely.

Also don't focus only on tanky champions, probably after 200-300 games you'll get bored of them and you'll be willing to try something new.

You could try Jayce - he's 2 stances that makes him viable as a melee fighter or ranged champion. He has some good escape mechanism (like speed-boosting gate and knock-back) and good poke that is also needed to learn. If you get oom you can turn into hammer stance and try auto-attacking minions so you'll regenerate your mana - you'll learn how to AA properly playing melee champion without getting harrased.

If you decide that you need some AP champion at the top lane that is viable to harras and last hit without being killed by bruisers (like Darius, Garen, Riven) try Lissandra - she has good poke, A LOT of CC and built-in escape mechanism.

Riven is an extremely fun fighting champion; playing her will assist you in melee-last hitting, laning mechanics, and other useful tools necessary for you to advance. She's manaless, so you might develop some bad habits of overusing your abilities, though you'll learn how to control cooldowns and how to time your harass well.

I think youve probly heard this before but the best thing you can do is just check some build guides (google characters name and build ie. "Ashe build" and build up characters in games and see how you like how they do. Full build does take some time but after you get there you start to really rack up some good kills.

Nasus is another good one to learn to last hit with, as his late game can be fairly powerful.

Just going to say, don't worry about anything right now. Play as many champs as you can. Play different roles, different builds, anything you find entertaining. The more you enjoy the game, the easier it shall be to improve.

Also; don't invest any IP into runes until you can use tier 3 ones.

I think you should try Riven (see Superman's post). I think she's loads of fun, and she's got a lot of different playstyles with a high skill cap

In my opinion Tier 1 runes are viable pre lvl 20, because they're very cheap (15-30 IP for each one) and if you collect 10-15 of them you can have slight advantage during laning phase. Also you'll be able to see the difference of playing with and without runes and you'll start choosing the best ones for you.
